Good morning Mick and everyone. It's rained in the night here in Cheshire, but it's dry at the moment. Yesterday I had every kind of weather on my trip to Liverpool for lunch with ex colleagues. There was torrential rain on my drive to the city, then sunshine, then SNOW, and back to blue skies over the Mersey. It almost blew me away at one point too!

First job today is to chase up a parcel which the company said was left in my porch. I was at home at the stated time of delivery and I don't have a porch. Neither do my neighbours, so no idea where that is! Then I had to leave it to get into Liverpool.

Being a bit indulgent today and have booked a head massage followed by a hair appointment. First a walk in the woods. I think the birds have been very quiet in the mornings recently, but I hear a blackbird singing away. The woodpecker was making such a racket the other morning it made us laugh.

Greetings to all the newcomers I missed yesterday. Thinking of everyone who is struggling with illness or sadness. Fingers firmly crossed for the gillybobs. Surely it will be sorted this time. Hope Friday is kind to everyone.

Good morning Mick and all to come. Up early again as DGS has been here for a few days, tired granny but enjoying the cuddles . I hope you all have a good day

Good early morning Mick, Ginny and all who follow. Here in the Scottish Borders it's blowing a hoolie.
Scaffolding is due to arrive this morning for roofers to work on our chimney. How that will work in this wind, I don't know.
First the dentist.
Have a good day everyone.

Morning both of you early starters, Mick and Ginny42 from a dark and windy north Wales!

Now that you mention birds Ginny, I don’t recall hearing them the last few mornings and yet DH says they’ve been inspecting the nesting boxes either side of our bedroom window.

A busy day today taking my maiden aunt to a hospital appointment- she doesn’t drive and I’m the only niece who’s retired so a run out this afternoon. I’m not always around with gadding about to Spain but I like to return a kindness and she was so good to my brothers and I when our mam died when we were children.

Hope everyone has a pleasant day, especially those with worries and a warm welcome to any newbies - I’ll pop in later to catch up with everyone methinks x

Good morning Mick, Ginny and all to come. Dry this morning in Northampton, and feels cold.

My usual trip to M&S Food and Sainsbury's this morning, but a visit to the doctor first to check up on the aches and twinges I am still feeling after I fell down a couple of weeks ago. I am beginning to wonder if I cracked or bruised a rib.

DS's birthday next week so need to get a card. I have ordered a 'curry kit' for his birthday; a lovely cookbook and a selection of curry spices. He loves cooking - and curries - so hoping he likes it.

Hoping that the day is kind to us all, and thinking of those with worries or sadness or feeling under the weather.

Good Morning from a very blowy Fife, its back again ! Friday so have 2 x DGS's but no nursery today, not found out reason yet from DD so it will be a different day. Judging by the weather not a day for going out with two young boys but we shall wait and see. Hope today is as well as can be especially for those under the weather or with troubles and anxieties. Thinking of you all and take care.

Mommawolf Fri 21-Feb-20 07:07:54

Goodmorning all from a cold and dry Norfolk after an evening of rain and hail the weather has settled. A busy day ahead delivering bits and pieces, my sister is a photographer who specialises in animal greeting cards so first stop is a craft centre to top them up, then to one of my clients to drop her a couple of raw fleeces she dyes and spins the most amazing wool using plants and natural sources. A lunch stop then off to Suffolk to check out a possible wife for smiler the goat he is a rare breed British feral it hs taken almost a year to find a pure blood femail. DH is going to start decorating "dads cottage" so we are best out of the way. Will be thinking of you GILLYBOB. have a good day everyone

Scentia Fri 21-Feb-20 07:12:30

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire. ‘Tis windy and damp outside this morning.
‘Working’ from home today, so after a walk with the doggie I am going to tackle some much needed cleaning.
Have a good day all.

Good morning all, the wind has been howling all night here in Glasgow.
I was sitting downstairs at 5am, drinking tea.

I have another hospital appointment this morning and a GP appointment 90 minutes later. The logistics are a nightmare, but that was the only GP appointment I could get.

Yesterday's short hospital appointment turned into a three hour marathon session. However, I did get a steroid injection in my hand, as it was badly swollen. I nearly punched the lovely nurse in the eye, when I shot out my seat as she started prodding it. ? There were a few mild expletives from both parties. blush
The good news is that I have to do no housework for twenty four hours. DH is going to be very busy. wink

As my appointment was taking so long, DH took DGD to feed the ducks in the pond nearby. It was all going great, until they were chased, in a hailstorm, by an angry swan, looking for food. ? DH was more scared than the wee one. It reminded me of Mommawolf's happy campers and the goats.
DGD was an absolute star, she loved every minute of her adventure.

There was a very positive outcome yesterday. It was acknowledged that my RA is not been managed by my present medication, so hopefully I will soon begin biologics treatment after all the screening is done. I have a lot to think about before it starts.
Sensibly, going by my past track record, they will wait until after my daughter's wedding.

Auntieflo, the hot cross buns were passible, despite having used the wrong flour. Well there are none left!
There is another batch cooking just now, with the left over dough. I'm planning to have some for breakfast.

Am I correct in thinking this is Mr Gillybob's hospital visit today. Wishing him all the very best.
Enjoy your day, folks.

Good Morning from a dull but dry Black Country.

Had a good day yesterday meeting DS for lunch in Lichfield. Elder DGD bought her boyfriend along.

I am off to the gym shortly, then home and shower to go to Birmingham to meet friends for lunch. Not had a day in this week, but will be not so busy next.

Welcome to all the newbies this week. flowers

Special thoughts with gilly and her DH, Marydoll Dragonfly and Lins

Urmstongran Fri 21-Feb-20 07:38:05

‘Cleaning’ Scentia? What’s that please?

Good morning everyone from South Manchester where where it’s dry but chilly. I’m off over to wait for the gas engineer at our daughter’s house for them (remember the days when we just used to say the gasman?). If I’m back by lunchtime we plan to go to the cinema but we all know what plans are for ....

Thinking of you Newquay hope your doctor’s appointment was reassuring for you yesterday. Intermittent nausea is worrying at the time. I had it for all of January after a gastric ‘flu bug so I feel for you (and Marydoll who suffers for different reasons). Mine has passed now & I hope yours does too very soon.

Fingers & toes crossed for you dear gillybob in the hope you have your husband’s op date firmly fixed now. The end of half term too today so that ties in well for you (a little at least anyway to lighten your load).

We are meeting two couples in that new bar tonight. Looking forward to seeing them later on. One of the ladies (how long can we call ourselves girls) has a wonderful sense of humour. I used to share an office with her at the hospital when we were working and the day would fly by!

Himself has sorted out flights out to Spain for the week after next with Mr. O’Leary. Can’t wait I’m more than ready for some warm sunshine! I rang one of my neighbours there a couple of days ago and she said it was gorgeous. We haven’t booked a flight back (for the first time ever) as we’ve decided to just return when we want. Our daughter laughed last night and said ‘probably see you in October then mum!’. Thinking 4 weeks roughly.

Right, time for my second cuppa and to stop wittering on. Hope Friday is kind to us all whether we have plans or none. x

Good morning Mick and all who follow. Grey and dull in Suffolk today but brightened by the two DGC who came for tea but brought their bags “just in case we can have a sleepover “ !
GD and I will go and do a shop while GS ‘helps’ grandpa to supervise the carpet fitter. By tonight our sitting room will be newly furnished and fitted ?.

Susan56 Fri 21-Feb-20 07:40:02

Good morning from the Shropshire borders. Its dry at the moment but heavy rain forecast.
This morning we are taking DGD to meet her friends from the playgroup we used to take her to.They have all gone to different pre schools and she is very excited to be seeing them all today.

Sending good wishes to all unwell and with worries and gilly I really hope everything goes well today for you and your husband.x

Going to aqua aerobics at the gym later this morning then a bit of food shopping as tonight our 6 year old DGS is staying over

Good Morning from a still but rather grey Oxfordshire.
I am buzzing about at a 100 miles per hour doing my usual Saturday cleaning early as we have work colleagues coming back here before we go out for a curry tonight.
Have a good Friday everyone and best wishes Gillybob

NannyJan53 Fri 21-Feb-20 07:44:27

Crossed posts Marydoll sorry you had a nightmare day yesterday, but at least there maybe a positive outcome! I have seen your recipe for Hot Cross Buns, and will be having a go next week !

Lins1066 Fri 21-Feb-20 07:44:31

Good Morning Mick from a windy S Welsh coast.
A quiet day for us today as yesterday was a bit full on. The drive to the hospital yesterday morning in torrential rain was rather scary.
We called back in M&S for some coffee but the queue for the cafe was so long that we didn't bother. I didn't want DH standing for ages with his bad leg.
Hope that Friday is kind to everyone and welcome to all the new posters.

Susan56 Fri 21-Feb-20 07:44:59

Hope your appointments go well Mary.Glad that yesterday was positive for you.You are inspiring in the way you deal with your health troubles. My daughters would call you a warrior??

Good Morning everyone from a damp and breezy Severnside.
Goodness Ginny42 your trip yesterday sounds like the song Four seasons in one day.

Shopping and the bank today so as I have woken up much later than usual I’m going to another town to do it.

Everything crossed for gilly that’s things go ok today and every else hope your day is good ?

Beechnut Fri 21-Feb-20 07:47:50

Welcome to the newbies on GM.

Marydoll Fri 21-Feb-20 07:58:10

Good luck today, Susan, I can empathise with you. Long journeys to hospitals and DGC thrown into the mix, are not a pleasure, when you are under the weather in the first place.
Safe journey.

Nortsat46 Fri 21-Feb-20 08:05:00

Good morning Mick and the GM team.
Good thoughts to Gillybob and her DH.

Mommawolf we will await further updates on the potential romantic options for Smiler ?
