Good morning Mick and the GM team, from east London where it is cool and a bit grey. We had light rain yesterday, which felt like a novelty.

It’s good to read that the ‘Good Morningers’ are slowly returning to normal. Easy does it!

I wasn’t well last night and am relieved to be feeling more human this morning.

My partner’s niece had a baby boy last week and is now home with him. She lives overseas and so her mother (my SIL) can’t travel to see the baby and support her daughter. All we can do is send our good wishes and a gift. I chose a cot blanket from ‘JoJo Maman Bebe’ and spent a happy time browsing their website and marvelling at what lovely things you can get for babies now.

I hope we all have a good day and ?to those who need them...

Good morning all from a grey and muggy Glasgow.

A totally different routine for me today, I'm so excited.
After many cancellations, DHs car is going in for a service today. Since I'm shielding, it was to be picked up by the garage, but they now don't have enough staff.
As it should have been done in March, I don't want him postponing again, so I will follow him over. I won't be getting out of the car, but am sorely tempted by the thought of TKMAX etc which is very close to it! ?

I'm quite apprehensive, as I have to sit at a busy junction, where previously, a lorry ran into the back of me, whilst I was sitting a a red light. I will be will be returning from the very same garage, which I was returning from the day of the accident.?

Grandmattie, you and I are indeed doppelgangers. DH and I had a very similar conversation yesterday about my craft room. I too have those cube things, but also a set of drawers which needs replaced.
He kept telling me that I also needed a new computer desk and what else I should do and when I should do it. I need a massive clear out. It is MY room, I like my things,. I don't mess about with HIS study! ? Rant over. ?

Puzzler, I would accompany you to both M&S and the Range, in an instant. I need a bit of normality, but it wouldn't do my bank balance nor my health any good.
I had a particularly bad wobble yesterday due to steroid withdrawal and basically being upset at seeing my most of my neighbours having family visit. ( Happy for them, but aware what I was missing) DH went to see DGD coming out of nursery for the last time( usually Papa's responsibility). She had told her mummy that her papa usually meets her with a drink and a sweetie and wanted to see him, not knowing he was hiding outside. She was overjoyed, as was he.
I never let on how envious I was.
I would have argued black was white! Poor DH☹️

Hugs to all those quiet GN friends and hoping things get better soon. I was so happy to hear Gilly's great news yesterday.

Morning all from a misty, muggy North Leicestershire. We had a tremendous rain storm yesterday afternoon which almost came in the front door.

We had a visit from the plumber yesterday to put right the mess they had made of replacement shower tray. I spent all the time after he went swiping the banisters, door knobs etc. I found it very stressful and concerning that he wore no protection and touched all sorts of surfaces. We wont be using them again.

Good morning from sunny Colchester. Feels very close and humid.
First walk into town today since lockdown. We're having our weekly meetup in the park. Groups of six socially distanced. I will take a deckchair and a cold drink. Don't think we'll be staying long as thunderstorms are forecast for lunchtime.

Morning all from a sunny and dry north Wales where DH informs me that it’s rained in the night although I heard nothing.

Full Monty for brunch then a trot out to see DD and family then home to relax with a new book which I haven’t chosen yet out of my small ever decreasing stash. I have books on my iPad but prefer the page turning thing!

Stay safe x

Sun’s up here! ?
Good morning everyone from Malaga ? another hot day ahead. Goody. I just took this photo whilst waiting for the kettle to boil for my second cuppa. It’s lovely to think the beach is just down there waiting for us to arrive!

I shall make cheese and onion sandwiches I think. Water and apples. If I take more I’ll eat more haha!
?

Please don’t ‘give in’ for an easy life grandMattie over how you’d like to set up your room. Just say you’ve thought it over and fancy a change about. When your husband says he’s not keen, just say you promise to keep the door shut then he won’t have to look at it!

Hope Wednesday is good to us all. Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x

Good morning everyone from a grey damp Inverness. Yesterday afternoon turned out warm and sunny so I’m hoping the same for today!

Good news mick with your lounge reopening ?

Today I’ll be down on my hands and knees continuing the battle with the weeds in the garden - they definitely spring up overnight especially when it’s warm and wet ..

Hope everyone finds something lovely to enjoy today and if you’re out and about please take care ?

Good morning Mick and all who follow. The 6th day of the Haar here in the Scottish Borders. I have all the lights on in the house. You really wouldn't think it was almost Midsummer.

That's good that your lounge is reopening, Mick. Our chiropodist has never stopped being open. I think they are considered Medical necessity. I wish the Dentist was too. I have a nagging toothache, and the hairdresser.
I get envious of you English who can go to shops.
We expect an announcement tomorrow from our FM so I look forward to my first "legal" walk since the start of March.

The covid situation is still bad in this country so I am unclear as to why there is so much easing. NZ is sending in the army to tackle 2 new cases but we have still hundreds.
Maybe I'm on the wrong thread?

Have a pleasant day everyone. Stay safe.

Good morning Mick and all x

The sky is slowly brightening here in S E Essex.

My lovely cleaners are here this morning, this afternoon the boiler is being serviced all this excitement in one day!!!!

I shall be in the kitchen catching up on paperwork (online shopping browsing)

Hoping Wednesday is kind to you all

Keep safe and well ?

Good morning all from misty Worcs. After a sticky, sultry kind of afternoon and darkening skies we finally got “the thunderstorm “ at 6 o’clock. It was some storm and the garden that needed some rain is now looking ravaged! Can’t have it all ways I guess.
I’m going to wash my hair, may give it another little trim ?‍♀️ and dress early today. I’ve been slipping into bad habits of late.
Must go to the Vet’s for my cat’s medication, and then to the chemist for my own. ?
Then M&S out of town shop, ???and The Range. ?
Opportunities to get out and about are opening up if we feel ready to visit them once again, with caution).
Thinking of all with worries, painful conditions or just a day of lying low ? ?

Dry with low cloud here in Cumbria. Still in bed but about to get up and go for my daily cycle ride. Have an online bridge match later this morning. Few more people in town yesterday but not many. Have a good day everyone and keep safe.

Morning Mick and All.

Quiet day weather wise here in South Bucks before the thunder storms threatened for tomorrow.

Glad you can begin to socialise againMick I have had my feet done throughout the pandemic.

grandM please don’t become a Stepford wife with regard to YOUR room. My dear friend has given into her DH for so long now it is the norm and she has no say in anything.

Good morning Mick from misty morning in Cheshire. Another storm last night. The north west seems to have been badly hit with storms this week. All we need!

That's a good sign that the upholstered furniture is being replaced Mick. Judging from scenes on the highstreets I think the British public have decided that the lockdown is ended, so it won't hurt for us to be extra careful out and about.

Got a man coming to measure for new doors, but he's so booked up, he can't fit them till October. I've seen his work and as long as it's before winter I'm prepared to wait. I'm delighted that he's got so much work.

I will be busy working today and a video meeting later, but first breakfast and a walk to get my brain working.

Take care everyone especially anyone with extra worries. Have a lovely time if you're lucky enough to be meeting family and friends. flowers for all.

Good morning from Malta where we have another hot day beginning. Summer is here so it will be hot until September/October I suppose.

Had a successful shopping trip with my friend yesterday. She managed to find a skirt and two blouses so will have something to wear that isn’t falling off her.

We sat and had coffee which felt like normality, apart from the waiter in his visor.

I also went to the car wash as my car was embarrassingly filthy. I put 3€ in the machine and do it myself which is quite funny as the force of the hose is so strong it almost knocks me over! I’m sure anyone seeing me grappling with the thing must think I’m mad! Anyway, it did the job.

No plans today. I need to go and look at tiles for my backyard but I’m not sure if I can be bothered, still in bed so will see how the mood takes me when I get up.

Wishing everyone as good a day as possible. Take care.☀️

Good Morning from a very overcast Severnside. Not a scrap of blue in sight.

Very good news yesterday for both Marydoll and gilly.

If it stays dry I’ll go out into the garden and do some deadheading as it is green waste collection this week. The garden looks like it needs a bit of tlc.

Have a good day all whatever you get up to ?

grandMattie Wed 17-Jun-20 06:28:07

Good morning from a bright but grey sky in E Kent. We’re not due any of this rain.

Glad that your lounge has reopened Mick, it should help with loneliness. As for the chiropodist, one tends to keep one's feet covered. They are also far from hands and noses...

I had an interesting altercation with DH yesterday. My study is finished and we were putting the furniture back. It consists of various combinations of those IKEA cube thingies. I decided that I wanted a different combination. DH told me he didn’t like it. I was affronted. This is MY study/sewing room, with MY bits and pieces. I’ll probably be a good Stepford wife and agree, as it isn’t that important, but...

Today, walk, supermarket and possibly Homebase to find a 2.1m Roller/roman blind for the kitchen to replace the Venetian blind that I hate.

I hope today is kind to you all. Stay well, stay safe.

Good Morning Everyone,
It was dry with some blue sky earlier, but now its turning grey as well.
Today , small shop in local supermarket .
Some news as regards to the Anchor -Hanover home I live in the communal lounge as reopened with new furniture but with 2m restrictions, its been measured up, so a maximum of 10 people can sit in there, any chair movement and it will close again .
Also my chiropodist is paying me a visit at end of month , whether this comes under the social bubble situ makes me wonder.
Take Care ,
Mick
