I’m sure if it was me “caught in the act” I would be embarrassed and would want someone to let me know so I could shut my window. I’m sorry but I don’t want to hear it!

What’s embarrassing about a couple having sex in their own bedroom? The OP should really mind her own business.

Oopsadaisy3

Maybe they are exercising ?
You could play loud music, but honestly do you think anyone cares?
I’m sure the GCs won’t know what it could be.
Next time maybe start clapping? That should stop them.

I love the idea of a round of applause, oopsadaisy.

We had bath sponges behind our headboard (doesn't everyone?) and were very quiet indeed (had to be, with four kids at home).

I don’t think you can do anything about a couple having some afternoon delight, they are in their own home: it’s hot the windows are open, Oh chewbacca you do make me laugh

I once had neighbours whose headboard would bang rhythmically on my bedroom wall. I did actually ask them once to pull their bed away from the wall, but it continued. It was so bad it would keep me awake at night.

I waited until they'd had a particularly late and long lasting session one night and got up extra early and put my favourite album on repeat (Swing Out Sister -remember them?) that the male neighbour had heard me playing before and mentioned that he hated on full blast and went to work.

I think they got the message because the head board banging stopped.

I would have to avoid laughing out loud when that happens.

I'm blaming the heat.
I need to lie down with a cold flannel, I think.

Record the noise and play it back to them from the end of the garden after they stop?

Chewbacca Fri 26-Jun-20 20:41:43

grin oh those were the days!

MissAdventure Fri 26-Jun-20 20:41:13

I can't imagine "having a word" with someone about their sex life.

It sounds like a scene from an excruciatingly uncomfortable sit com.

Bucket of water? Join in the fun? Earplugs for all the family? gringringrin

I really don’t think there is anything you can do about a couple having sex in their own home. If your GC question it play it off as them watching a noisy film or foxes fighting. I understand it makes you uncomfortable, but what people do in the comfort of their own bedroom is really not up to the neighbours to police - even if it is embarrassing for you!!

I would like some advice please if anyone has any suggestions. My neighbours possibly early 50s live in the house at the bottom of our garden . Twice now I have heard loud grunting noises coming from their windows.I don’t want to go into detail but I hope people on here can get the gist! I really don’t know what to do about it as I don’t want our guests/grandchildren listening to it. Should I shout up and tell them to shut the windows? I’m at a loss what to do.Help!
