We had heavy rain in west Cheshire for about two hours overnight last night, another couple of hours this morning and another half hour or so this afternoon.....it's freshened everywhere up wonderfully! Now I'd be very grateful for another couple of drizzly days!
We were expecting a thunderstorm here in South Yorkshire this afternoon but it has passed us by yet again. We must have had a brief shower overnight but it must have evaporated as soon as it hit the ground. I can guarantee it will be absolutely chucking it down at the beginning of August - guess who is going on holiday!
It looked ominous, so we brought the garden seat cushions in. Then I watered all the planters, The sun is now out and I think we can forget having any rain.
But we did have nearly 30 mintes of rain last Saturday, so I shouldn't be greedy.
We had thunder and lightning earlier and I was all optimistic about rain following, but nothing so far. It smells like rain in the air, so I'm still hopeful . . . . . Ever the optimist!
We had rain late yesterday afternoon. As we were walking down to the doctors' surgery DH commented "we haven't had the rain yet". I replied that it would probably start just as we left the surgery. Guess what? It started just as we left the surgery
