A small pop-up shop has appeared in a village near me. It sells beautiful items...homeware, silk dressing gowns (£79) all sorts.
I passed it after having coffee with a friend and went inside 'just to look'.
I ended up buying a huge dark pink faux dahlia and a length of pale plum-coloured grosgrain ribbon to tie up the white cotton voile drapes in my bedroom which puddle on the floor.
I wascsoemrelybtempted by some gorgeous pale pink plates but managed to walk out having only splurged £22 blush
The shop has an online presence so no doubt I'll be buying some special C gifts there over the coming weeks.
What type of shops intrigue you and do you end up making a random purchase?
The name of the shop is Curated Living, www.curatedliving.co.uk

Pound land.

Oops!

was sorely tempted. 🤔🙄😊

GabriellaG54 Tue 10-Sep-19 21:26:32

Error. Not dahlia, it's a chrysanth. blush

I have bought in Poundland but it's choc-a-bloc, noisy and has lots of tat but tbf, has some good bargains.

Second-hand book shops!

GrandmaKT Tue 10-Sep-19 21:43:48

I like a good mooch in Homesense

I'm hopeless for wool shops and wool festivals. I can spend a fortune on beautiful yarn, but I justify it by thinking that I am buying clothes to wear as well as spending on my hobby.

Greenfinch Tue 10-Sep-19 21:45:19

Charity shops. Not only do I like a bargain but I can feel I am doing something for the environment as well.

MiniMoon Tue 10-Sep-19 21:52:58

Book shops, particularly small ones with old books. Get me in there and you'll have difficulty getting me out.

Homesense is financial suicide for me. If I don't succumb in their bedding or towering dept, I fail miserably in the soaps and bath products and I end up spending £££££s. Their kitchen dept never fails to have something that I just can't live without. Love that store!

Bakers and Larners in Holt (Norfolk) is a particular favourite of mine whenever I'm in that neck of the woods. I can spend ages browsing around, and yes I usually end up buying !

I haven't been that often but I love the little gift shops and boutiques in Brighton. I always make sure I have an empty piece of hand luggage just in case....
Artisan food stalls in markets. Impossible not to buy something.

annep1 Tue 10-Sep-19 22:45:29

Oh yes as everyone says bookshops! I love the NT ones.

Marydoll Tue 10-Sep-19 22:53:03

Oh dear, Gabriella, I'm hooked! grin

Gonegirl Tue 10-Sep-19 22:58:40

I'm getting my Christmas presents from that shop! (The one in original post)

Gonegirl Tue 10-Sep-19 22:59:05

Those mouse lamps are sweet!

Lovely shop GabriellaG54 although a bit pricey. But I can understand the temptation to buy. I wonder will they deliver to NI.

Antique markets for me, hard to resist. And I used to live close to Portobello Road!

HettyMaud Tue 10-Sep-19 23:05:53

Antique centres. Lots of lovely stuff and you'd be amazed at how cheap some things are. I'm sure there's no VAT on any of it.

Hetty58 Tue 10-Sep-19 23:19:48

I don't like shops but outdoor markets of all types are my favourites. I can spot something and be compelled to buy it, especially if it's a plant!

Our local religious shop is a favourite of mine, as is the second hand bookstore, and the craft store Michael's. Sometimes I have to remind myself that I'm not allowed to buy out the store grin

We have a fantastic emporium near us, where sellers can rent a glass cabinet to display their wares. Books, records, photographs and paintings, antiques, vintage clothing and ornaments, handcrafted jewellery, accessories and gifts as far as the eye can see. I could spend hours, and a fortune, in there. I’m going back tomorrow to buy some earrings with Lowry scenes on that I resisted last week.

Sara65 Wed 11-Sep-19 07:04:52

Sorry to be boring, but it’s book shops for me too.

GrannyGravy13 Wed 11-Sep-19 07:20:01

GabriellaG54, just my sort of shop, may be "finger shopping" this afternoon.......I know I need something, just not sure what it is 🤔🤔🤔
