‘Pants! as in trousers . A US import this idea.
If you want to take part you’re too late this year. Maybe 2021 ?

I thought nothing could surprise me any more but this takes the biscuit. Do you all know about this ? Have I been missing out ? Apparently you all gather in a tube station and when they give the signal you take your trousers off and go on your journey.
Dunno what happens at the end. Didn’t read that far.

What happens if you want to take part, but live nowhere near a tube station? Do you just remove your ‘pants’ at the nearest bus stop say?
I would hate to miss out.

You could start your own breakaway group !

Careful with words here: 'Pants' and 'Trousers' could be arrested for indecent exposure! grin

You could organise a flash mob in a shopping centre grin

I thought you meant knickers
and thought, it's too chilly at the moment!

Callistemon Fri 24-Jan-20 20:11:01

Do you make a donation to charity for people who can't afford clothes?

Otherwise it seems pointless and daft - and exhibitionist.

Gemini1789 Fri 24-Jan-20 21:18:50

That would seem to sum it up perfectly !

Kalu Fri 24-Jan-20 21:36:24

I wear knickers and trousers. Does this mean I can’t play?

No, never heard of this Gemini. Sounds a bit daft.

Gemini1789 Fri 24-Jan-20 22:16:03

No, Kalu, you can’t play because you wear a thong. Yes you do. I can see your washing line from my kitchen window!!!! And the rules state that thongs might upset other passengers. So .....

They have been celebrating no pants day in the Czech Republic for ages and I think it is actually colder there than in the UK.

Callistemon Fri 24-Jan-20 22:19:35

And in Sweden

It used to be May, not quite so chilly then.

grumppa Fri 24-Jan-20 22:19:47

According to Wikipedia it was originally held on a Friday in May, I suppose in rather more suitable weather. Holding it in January means that at least participating male members will be modestly shrivelled.

It seems No Pants Day is 1st May but No Pants Day is sometimes confused with No Pants Subway Ride Day, which is held in the month of January. The first No Pants Subway Ride Day was held in New York City in 2002 with only 7 riders who went on the New York City Subway without their pants. The event was organized by Improv Everywhere, a humor organization. Since then the Day has been celebrated in many different cities around the world.

I was looking for the purpose....apparently there is none.

😂😂. No Gemini must be another washing line you are spying on. Not a fan of the cheese slicer🤭😁

Kalu Fri 24-Jan-20 23:22:40

I have just googled this event 🤔. People walking around underground stations wearing knickers and boxers!

I did some crazy things in the sixties but no way would I have gone out in my knickers😳🤯.

I remember when women wearing trousers were not allowed entry to posh restaurants and some celebrities (can’t remember who, possibly Twiggy or Joanna Lumley) chose to remove their trousers in protest. Their tops were fingertip length and as minis were coming into fashion the restaurants had no option but to let them in.
In the 60s my boss received a complaint from the head of another department that I was improperly dressed in my tailored trouser suit. Thankfully he disagreed.
