He has become so grown-up

GS who is 13 brought our milk round this morning, only lives in next street I can see front of the house he shares with dd,sil,e.g. from upstairs windows.
He's done that growing up thing mentally that boys do gone from 13 going on 3 to 13 going on 33.
You know the thing walk not run, talk not mumble, asked if we needed anything else, instead of put milk on step grab sweets and run. Also said to me the first thing he wants to do when we are no longer shielded is come over for a nan breakfast cried when he walked off round corner

There does come a point when they start to 'grow up'. My 14-year-old has suddenly become helpful and communicates in more than monosyllables and grunts. I had quite a conversation with him on the phone today. I'm hoping that his 12-year-old brother will follow suit.
