Good Morning Everyone,
Its a nice dry and bright sunny start here in Brackley this morning.
Today , I will try and get an appointment to have my hair cut in the next few days.
It seems the order of most hairdressers with notices on doors giving details of numbers to book an appointment .
Other than that not allot today .
Take Care ,
Mick

Good morning from a bright E Kent.
All the best getting a haircut Mick. I shan’t bother ringing my Hairdresser for at least a fortnight. She is probably swamped with old ladies wanting their weekly shampoo and set. My hair is now shoulder length and can wait.
Carpet coming today. No access to upstairs from 9; just as well we have a downstairs loo!
Marydoll, has you mojo been spotted yet? In either case, be kind to yourself. That goes to all those in pain and sorrow.
Stay safe, stay well.

Marydoll Mon 06-Jul-20 06:39:34

Good morning Mick and all who follow from a sunny, but cool Glasgow. It's only 10 degrees Celsius.

DH is golfing, so I shall enjoy my empty.
I have no plans for today apart from cleaning my cooker and phoning the hospital for some advice on the side effects of my medication. It's not going to be simple, as one of the RA specialist nurses is shielding and the other is on holiday. If I can't speak to anyone, I will just phone my GP, once I get past the receptionist, that is.
I have been swithering, hoping things would settle down , but onsidering my history of allergic reactions, I need to now bite the bullet.

I look forward to hearing everyone's weekend news and hope that, Pantglas arrived safely in Spain.

Have the best day you can, everyone and best wishes if you have a birthday.

Beechnut Mon 06-Jul-20 06:41:52

Good Morning everyone from Severnside where it is sunny.
Have you given up with cutting your own hair Mick ?

Today is the day I become a pensioner. 😳

I need something for my diy jobs so will go today and see if the hardware store in town has it if not I’ll venture to one of the big chains later in the week.

Stay safe all and have a lovely day 🌻

cornergran Mon 06-Jul-20 06:58:56

Morning Mick, morning All. Still a strong, gusty wind in our corner of Somerset, at least the clouds pass by quickly. Welcome to the pensioner club beechnut, it’s not so bad smile. Hope you get some reassurance marydoll, I suspect if on a mojo search the last route I’d take would be cooker cleaning. grin. Not a clue what we’ll do today, Mr C wants to sand some garden furniture if the wind drops, I’m not hopeful at the moment. Be gentle with yourselves everyone and still be careful out there.

brook2704 Mon 06-Jul-20 07:08:58

Good morning everyone from Inverness. It’s dry with grey cloud but at long last the sun is trying to peep out ....
Nothing planned for today yet, I’ve got some time to myself as DH is going to do some more work at DD2 garden. He put some grass seed down a week or so ago but there’s no sign of growth yet, I think all the rain might have washed it away
Ooooh Congratulations on becoming a pensioner beechnut
I hope you get some help from the medical teams marydoll and things become a bit easier soon .. sending gentle hugs
Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning from a dry but still windy NE.
Rang 111 yesterday and a doctor called me back, he told me where to travel to and he would examine my hand.
He thought it was probably arthritis and will need an x-ray at some point but could not rule out gout because of the swelling and redness. Tablets reduced the pain enough to let me fall asleep so a step forward.
Need to clean the house today, hairdresser coming tomorrow.

Urmstongran Mon 06-Jul-20 07:27:02

Sun’s up here! 🌞
Good morning everyone from Malaga 😎

We’re off to the beach later. I finished reading ‘Blood Orange’ (a Richard & Judy recommendation) and it was very good - a real page turner. The protagonist is a female barrister and the erratic hours, riotous drinking in bars near Temple, smoking, juggling of work/home life was very accurate. I know a young female barrister and it rang true! A complete change today I think. I’ve put an Edith Wharton book on my Kindle. It’s a depiction of New York high society in 1880 called ‘The Age of Innocence’. This is what I love about reading - changing genres is wonderful - life is never boring with a book to hand!

You sound mithered Marydoll? You must be unsettled to want to speak with your RA nurse. I hope she is able to reassure you about those side effects you are experiencing.

Thinking if you harrigran today. I hope you slept some last night. And you too, BlueSapphire - I hope you’re feeling a bit better and well enough to join us soon. We miss you!

Oh and you as well Maw I hope you’re less sad and pop back here to chat.

Are you up yet Pantglas? I don’t think we heard from you yesterday.

Hope you get an appointment sorted Mick it will be another ‘new normal’ to add to your jaunts since lockdown. You’re doing well.

Hope Monday is good to us all. Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x

Good morning Mick and all his followers. Sunny in Suffolk but still windy.
Happy Birthday *Beechnut!” Done spend it all at once!
Tomorrow we get a visit from DD & SiL for our first meeting since March. All very exciting! He is immensely organised and houseproud so there is lots of cleaning to do today 😬 and cooking too. It will be worth it!
Hope the day is kind to everyone.

Urmstongran Mon 06-Jul-20 07:31:49

X posts harrigran! Good that you spoke someone. If it’s gout I can appreciate how painful your hand must be. My stepfather suffered with it intermittently in his foot for years, until someone recommended he try a daily tablet of allopurinol and he’s never had a flare since.
😊

kittylester Mon 06-Jul-20 07:34:26

Good morning all from a breezy but bright North Leicestershire.

I think I should iron today sad

Urmstongran Mon 06-Jul-20 07:36:07

Congratulations Beechnut - Money dropping into your bank now every four weeks! I join you 3 weeks tomorrow (fellow Virgo). It’s been a long time coming I can’t wait!

Good morning, the sun is shining in Essex by the sea today.
We've had a busy weekend. Saturday we picked up our new computer and printer and spent some time setting them up. It's lovely having a fast computer unlike my old one which had become very slow.
Yesterday we visited DH's eldest daughter and spent time playing with the 6 year old and 3 year old twins. We then had an invite to visit friends in their new upstairs conservatory. Walls of glass with wonderful views of the sea.
Nothing much planned today.
Have a pleasant day and stay safe xx

Mythbirtthedragon Mon 06-Jul-20 07:59:01

Good morning from east London, bright and sunny outside, wind seems to have dropped a bit. Jumble trail yesterday wasn’t very exciting but it did get me out for a decent walk and several chats. Tennis at lunchtime today; before I go, I’ll put a beef curry for DP and DS in the slow cooker. Haven’t done one before but have had a request and there’s some meat to use up. Two weeks until I have a haircut and I can retire the clips again.
Have a good day

Puzzler61 Mon 06-Jul-20 08:06:43

Good morning Mick and All from a sunny, breezy, dry start to the week.

Does that mean it’s your Birthday Beechnut? If so, A Very Happy Birthday to You 💐 🎂 🎈 ,
and to tanith who’s also a Birthday Girl today 💐🎉🌷

Marydoll I wish you good luck with seeking advice from those medics. Your new medication and their side-effects should be monitored in these early weeks. I hope you get somewhere with it. Please let us know. 💐

Pants are you in Espania lovely Senorita? Have you recovered from the flight. I hope the experience was okay or better than that. It has got to be worth it as you’re now in the land of Sangria with Urmston. 🍹

Mick, I’m glad you’re making your hair appointment - I guess the clippers you bought will go on e-bay now? My DH is going to his ‘clip joint’ tomorrow so I think his will also become redundant. 😉

Adios Grans, I’m off to get Weetabix and blueberries now - my tummy tells me my fast needs to break!

Have a busy or lazy, safe day, and to all with worries, sadness or pain I hope you can find something of comfort to do today. 🦋

Brunette10 Mon 06-Jul-20 08:11:44

Good Morning everyone from a bright Fife, still quite airy though. Marydoll feel for you with everything you are going through, hopefully you will get some re-assurance from the Medicals, just keep going smile. Beechnut nice feeling, just enjoy your hard earned cash, we've all waited too long. Not sure what plans we have today, may venture out for some supplies but there again may not. Days are still flying past though, not sure how everyone else feels but time is whizzing by. Hope everyone looks after themselves, keep safe.

Beechnut Mon 06-Jul-20 08:13:46

I don’t get any money for a few weeks yet Urmston probably get it the same time as you. It’s just that today is from when it starts. 😃

Beechnut Mon 06-Jul-20 08:15:53

No, it’s not my birthday Puzzler. Just my pension start time day.

mancgirl Mon 06-Jul-20 08:16:09

Good morning from a sunny lake district. Rain overnight but sunny day predicted. It has felt very odd going to stay anywhere after lockdown. Drove into Bowness on the way here expecting it to be busy but very quiet. Chanced having a drink in a bar. Very vigilant staff, we felt completely safe. Probably because only about 3 tables in. The staff expected it to be much busier. The ferry boat company had lines fenced off but no one waiting to board. Perhaps the weather kept people away. Hotel staff are trying hard but impossible to maintain distance when serving meals. Doesn't feel completely relaxed but lovely to have food prepared for us! Making our way back today but will have a stroll after breakfast first. Have a good day everyone. (((hugs))) for those who need one flowersfor those with extra cares and worries.

Good morning from a sunny, blue skies and dry but chilly day in Glasgow which means we can have a garden visit from DD1 and the girls later today. I can’t wait for GD2 to jump out of the car for a cuddle. Hoping it’s not too long until we can all have a cuddle.

Thankfully the flare up in my shoulder has calmed down and I can miss out the need for stronger painkillers which leave me feeling I have had a night on the tiles but without the fun.

Some gentle gardening today and potting up some rocket and tomato plants for the girls to take home.

A specially good morning to you BlueSapphire and all who are having difficult times feeling down, I wish you a better, more positive day.

Urmstongran Mon 06-Jul-20 08:19:48

Beechnut 😊

Pittcity Mon 06-Jul-20 08:21:13

Good morning from sunny, breezy Colchester. The wind is not as strong as yesterday but my robot hoover is currently sweeping up the seeds that blew in through the open windows last night.
Loads of laundry today after having our DGSs stay for the weekend.

Gingster Mon 06-Jul-20 08:22:01

Good morning all from sunny Suffolk by the sea. Still breezy but not quite so bad. The wind bent my whirly gig washing line yesterday so the top was lying in the ground. It had towels on it , so I think they acted like sails and the force just bent it. 😤

We keep looking around the garden for a ‘sheltered ‘ spot to plant my new cystis bush. We don’t have a sheltered spot.! I must find somewhere as my lovely brother bought it for me.

My Clafoutis cherry pie turned out a winner. Never made it before and will certainly make it again. Thanks again for that idea 👍🍒.

Ive got a ticket booked for the cinema on Wednesday, but I’m becoming more and more uncertain Whether to go. 🤔. I’m would be going alone (no-one would come with me) , so I wouldn’t be letting anyone down if I don’t go. I’m still prevaricating! 😬. Would you ?
MARYDOLL, you don’t sound yourself at all. Get some advice and help and hopefully they will have an answer for you. 🌺 keep your chin up. 😘

HARRIGRAN your poor hands. It must be so wearing to have that pain constantly. Hopefully the new meds will relieve you. Give URMSTONGRANS allopurinol a go. 🌺

BEECHNUT join the merry throng. 👵.

EllanVannin Mon 06-Jul-20 08:22:19

Good Morning All x-----It isn't with the weather, it's disgusting
Winds/gales all day yesterday and through the night and this morning still, as I write. I'm not liking it one bit.

I was reading that a cruise ship which is in Liverpool can't sail out because of the winds. It's the Viking Sun and those on board have to stay put while the ship is sheltering.
That sea is rough ! Full breakfast with fatty bacon anyone ? grin

Thinking of Harrigran's pain is one my mum used to have if it's gout as I remember her nearly in tears with the pain. I hope it eases for you (((hugs )))----blow the distance !

A possible visit from D today after she's dropped the children off and hopefully give me an update on how things are going on the home-front. I know she'll be having the builders in at some point as it's been a waiting game for her.

I should do some washing but it's not worth it if it can't be hung out, at the moment it's only the wind that's keeping the rain away as the sky's looking heavy so I'll sort the stack of papers ready for shedding. Where do they all come from ?

I hope Marydoll can be sorted with her medication as sometimes the side-effects can be worse than the problem itself. I know what adverse effects can be like, not nice.

Thoughts to everyone with problems of sorts. I hope the day is kind to everyone so stay safe and well xx

Gingster Mon 06-Jul-20 08:22:48

Posted too soon. Have a painfree, restful, pleasant day to all. 🌺
