Good morning all, it's a beautiful, sunny morning here in Glasgow. I think a day outside is the plan.
DD and SIL will be visiting, so they will be able to sit outside, as we are not allowed anyone in the house here.
DD has asked for me to make Mars Bar cake for her, so I had better get busy! I used to make it for her colleagues before Covid, so it's ages since I have made it.
She once entered it in a baking competition at work as joke to impress her colleagues, they think she is totally undemesticated, it won and she had to come clean and say it was mine.
Kitty, I was sorry to hear your family's sad news, Sark, I hope your poor daughter's headaches ease and as for Pantglas, glad to read you are home safely to cause more trouble on GN.?
Yesterday's visit to Sainsbury's was really not enjoyable at all. I had been so looking forward to my solo trip. Despite going out early, it was so busy, with people blatantly disregarding social distancing.
The trolley bay is very big at the front door, but despite no other customers, one lady came up beside me and started pushing me out of the way, saying Excuse me, excuse me..... She was determined to get a trolley before me.
I could feel her touching my arm, as she tried to get her trolley. My anxiety levels started to rise as I thought that after months of shielding, my health could be compromised.
I'm ashamed to say, ? I was very sharp with her and lectured her about following the 2 metre guidelines and the fact that we are in a Covid hotspot. She looked at me as if I was talking a foreign language. Previously, I would have just kept quiet, not wanting to cause a fuss.
There was a queuing system with everything clearly marked, where to stand ecetera, but the next thing I realised she was right beside me again, pushing past to get into the store, while I sanitised my trolley.? That is until the security guard sent her straight back outside to wait with everyone else.
Thank goodness it was a one off, however I will be going back to online deliveries from now on. ☹️
When I got home, there was a letter waiting from the Govscot shielding people. My heart sank when I saw the familiar envelope.?
Inside, was a list of what I can do or not do at the moment.. Basically, not much I can do safely, but a least I'm not back to shielding just yet! Phew!!
Thinking of all our absent friends and wishing you all a pleasant day.
