Good Morning Everyone,
its dark, dull and wet here in Brackley this morning.
This will not put me off going to Bicester via Buckingham, and then returning direct.
Up to March I had returned via Buckingham , but the service back also picks up secondary school children ,and as its a small bus I fear the worst .
I had some good news yesterday as to flu jab, my surgery are visiting the luxation early next week to give residents from that surgery the jab.
Mick

Good morning from a cool, dark, overcast E Kent. We are forecast more rain today. What a treat!
I hope you get your ‘flu jab easily, Mick. My surgery normally does two Saturdays in early September, with everyone hugger mugger being done. This year, the earliest appointment I could get is at the end of October.
Felt rather jaded yesterday. No, not too much to drink - unless you count one very small glass of wine with dinner. Did the washing, folding and, yes, the ironing. I’m very virtuous and iron after every wash. I don’t mind ironing. I far prefer it to dusting!
DS2 visiting today. First time we’re seeing him since the bank holiday. It’ll be wonderful. He’s coming to lunch and we’re all going out to dinner at a new local restaurant called “Tan Bueno”. Sort of Spanish. Yum.
I hope the missing are ok, the sad, sick and in pain feel better, and everyone has a good day. Stay safe.

Morning Mick and All your followers.

Cloudy and damp here in South Bucks.

Woke at 4.45 with a headache went down to get a cuppa, a Rich Tea, and a tablet, drank the tea whilst I listened to the Shipping Forecast then started to drift off until DH got up to visit the loo, so there is no hope of any more sleep.

Off to a friend’s for coffee this morning and that’s it for today!

Jaxjacky Thu 24-Sep-20 06:38:22

Good morning Mick, dark and wet here too, admin work today, including printing some table signage for our village pub re the new rules.
I’ll also have to fish out some winter footwear for a walk, dramatic weather changes in a few days.
Enjoy your Thursday.
To all, have a calm day, especially those in turbulent times. X

Morning GrandM.

I love the expression hugger mugger, haven’t heard that for ages.

Morning JaxJ.

Good morning from a dark, damp south Cornwall. Lots of lovely rain in the night. Hoping for less today as it's our allotment knitters outdoor meeting though we can retreat to a sort of covered area if necessary. Doctors texted yesterday asking me to book a flu jab - it's next Saturday in the practice car park at 11.12! I'd better not be a minute late!

Sorting kitchen for my new dishwasher yesterday I removed a kick panel and a queen bee flew out. Glad I disturbed her before she created a brood! Strange place to hide though, under a kitchen cupboard.

Well, better get up and make a coffee, don my Dry Robe and sit on my swing seat to watch the sunrise. Best of days to you all, whatever you're going through.

Good morning all. I've been missing in action for a while, so thought I'd come back and report.

Melbourne weather is running true to form. We have a saying, if you don't like the weather wait 5 minutes. After some lovely sunny days around the low to mid 20's we have reverted to wet, windy and cold days and likely to see this for the next week or so. One good thing though is the slightly longer days. We will start daylight saving in just over a week.

I had a 3 month check up with the surgeon for my knee replacement this morning. All going well and we are both pleased with the result. Given that I have not been able to do hydrotherapy - thanks to COVID - and I find walking difficult due to arthritis in my ankles and feet, my exercise has been limited. However I have just bought myself some walking poles at the suggestion of my physiotherapist. They should arrive in the next few days and I'm looking forward to trying them out to see if they give me the stability I lack to walk.

Hope everyone has a great day.

MellowYellow Thu 24-Sep-20 06:50:14

Walking poles are fabulous Spice, you'll stride out! I love mine, though I'm now on crutches waiting for two new hips.

Scentia Thu 24-Sep-20 06:53:32

Good Morning Mick and all the other early Gods Morningers
I too am awaking to a dark and wet day. DH shot out of bed when my alarm went off saying “what the f%#k was that?!”
I have had that alarm for about two years and it goes off seven days a week, so not sure what he heard??
A day at the factory today. I was rather sad the last few days as I have handed in my notice at the children’s homes, I obviously can’t say why but it has made me sad.
I do however have my weekends back and I need to make a plan for Saturday.
Yesterday I met my DSiS and DN with DD and DGS at bradgate park and we got absolutely soaked to the skin!!
Hope everyone having any kind of troubles can just have a little smile at some point today, when I am truly troubled I only have to see my DGS face pop around the corner of his hallway when I ring the doorbell and suddenly everything seems ok ?

Scentia Thu 24-Sep-20 06:54:38

* good morningers. Made me smile just thinking what God’s morningers would be like!!!

grandMattie Thu 24-Sep-20 06:57:11

That’s really sad, Scentia. You’ll get used to having your weekends back very quickly. Would be easier without those wretched restrictions! [hugs]

Beauregard Thu 24-Sep-20 07:00:23

Good morning from a dark, wet Derbyshire. It's my supermarket shop day today so I am up early to get there ahead of the masses. It won't be long before I am setting off in the dark. I might call at the garden centre afterwards to buy bulbs and winter bedding plants.

My brother is visiting this morning to have a look at our vacuum cleaner as it seems to be on the way out. He's good with things like that so if it's fixable we'll know. I heard from my niece yesterday that my other brother is in hospital with fluid on his lungs and breathing difficulties. He's having a ct scan and a drain on his lungs so we'll know more later.

Must go and get that shopping done! Hope everyone is feeling well today and has a good day.

Good morning all from France, where it continues to be overcast. Late yesterday we had thunder and heavy rain so it’s definitely the end of Summer. All meals being partaken indoors is a sure sign!
Good luck to all facing medical interventions and to the rest: enjoy whatever you plan to do! Happy Thursday!

Beechnut Thu 24-Sep-20 07:09:57

Good Morning everyone from Severnside. It’s been raining and very cloudy.

I have to make an appointment for my flu jab. It’s going to be a car park jab in October.

This morning I’m going to the library to pick up a book I reserved in February and later do some sewing. I bought a long dress and it has a side slit near the bottom and I’m not keen on slits. The other thing I want to make is a fake roman blind for the small bathroom window for when it’s open. The window is now overlooked by a new roof window next door. I don’t expect they want to be looking at an old lady’s bum.

Take great care of yourselves ?

Sark Thu 24-Sep-20 07:14:05

Morning everyone. Pale blue sky and dry here in Oxfordshire.
Scentia that is a shame as we could hear how much you enjoyed it.
Grandmafrench hope you had fun with the kayak yesterday.
A few years ago we went kayaking in France. The scenery was stunning but less so our competence as we somehow zig zagged all down the river.
Mellowyellow sounds like a lovely start to the day from your swingseat.
Better get moving as Thursday's always my busiest day at work.
Thinking of all who are under the weather
Have a good day

Sark Thu 24-Sep-20 07:17:39

Beauregard hope your brother's scan etc is ok

MellowYellow Thu 24-Sep-20 07:21:36

Thank you Sark. In fact I'm sitting out in a hailstorm. In Cornwall! Weird weather!

NannyJan53 Thu 24-Sep-20 07:21:49

Good morning from a rainy Black Country.

Had a lovely meal last night, and an Eton Mess to share for 'afters'! Rarely have dessert these days, but partner ordered it (with 2 spoons) and I just had to have a taste. I mentioned to Mum on our daily video call that we would pop in beforehand, but she was surprised to see us. Either her hearing is getting worse, or her memory!

I made 2 lasagnes yesterday, one for us and one for DD.

No real plans for today, a bit of housework and ironing I suppose, whilst Partner goes on a bike ride with his club.

Sorry to hear about your brother Beauregard flowers

Wishing everyone a good day, with special thoughts to anyone struggling with ill health or feeling down.

harrigran Thu 24-Sep-20 07:30:42

Good morning from a cool, damp NE.
Been awake since 5am so took my book to the spare room and finished it.
Arm a bit painful where I had my flu vaccination, small price to pay.
Parcel coming today from M&S, no problem waiting in as I am not allowed to go anywhere.

kittylester Thu 24-Sep-20 07:35:41

Morning all from a soggy North Leicestershire.

Ironing for me this morning and a Sainsbury's delivery this pm. My wine was on offer yesterday so I ordered quite a lot - just to be on the safe side. blush

Take care everyone.

Good morning everyone from a grey cloudy Inverness with a very cold nip in the air... yesterday turned out to be a beautiful autumn sunny day and I carried on with the never ending job of tidying up in the garden
This morning I’ve got an online dance exercise class, I should have gone back to the gym by now but it’s closed permanently and I’m unsure about joining another one yet .. Later I’m meeting up with a friend at the local garden centre for coffee and a chat, I’m looking forward to it ?
Sorry to hear about your job scentia but good that you’ve got your weekends back
Hope all is ok with your brother beauregard
Good idea kitty ? ??
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles and take care whatever the day brings ?

Urmstongran Thu 24-Sep-20 07:44:02

Good morning everyone from Malaga where it’s darker now in a morning. Think the forecast is for 30°C again though like yesterday ?

We went for a good long walk along the paseo. Good job Himself had put sunscreen on his pate. Boy it was hot but it was lovely to be beside the beach and sea. Still some sun beds set out but less now. Hotels are all closed, most chiringuitos and some bars. Very quiet but all of us out walking wore our masks.

We headed up along to the marina and called in at my favourite bar there, Kaliedo. I had the most delicious cocktail - a porn star martini and then we walked along to the Metro bar and shared a salad and a pizza. Lovely.

No plans today. The washer is on (taking advantage of the 2 free hours each day from our supplier!) and Himself will be going out to watch the Rangers game at 9pm.

Sorry about your job Scentia you’ve enjoyed it all summer, all your training courses too and the extra money helped when the factory was quiet. Maybe you could take your skills to a different healthcare service?

Hope Thursday is good to us all whether we have any plans or none. Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. x

Sar53 Thu 24-Sep-20 07:45:45

Good morning from a very wet Essex by the sea. It's grey, dark and very miserable.
Supermarket shop this morning, we are going to try the new A@di that opened a couple of weeks ago.
I received an appointment for a telephone consultation with a doctor at the local hospital for next month. Quicker than I expected but I'm not sure what can be achieved over the phone.
Eldest grandson is 7 today, we will pop round with his present later, a helmet to wear when riding his bike.
Have the best Thursday you can and stay safe everyone xx

Pantglas2 Thu 24-Sep-20 07:51:10

Morning all from a dry but grey north Wales where I’ve just awoken to the sound of DH bringing the chamberpot ☕️

All this talk of flu jabs ?has reminded me that I need to book one at Asda - I’m too young (just) to get the freebie and ‘horribly healthy’ as DH described me to Practice Nurse when he booked his for Oct 5th!

I’ve been given some cooking apples so a crumble is calling - just wish I could break quarantine to pick blackberries....I doubt there’ll be many left by now!

Have a good day everyone ?
