Hello again! Hope you are enjoying better weather than us!
Oh to be in Australia now that Spring is here; Queensland excepted. 30+C up there, 10-C down here, as they predicted. Makes you think about emigrating!.
Sorry if I confused anyone yesterday. Perhaps members were too polite to remind me that those pilot whales beached in Tasmania, not S.A. Some survived.
My excuse!? An old sea-salt has gone missing again in that area in his wooden boat; was lost, then found then lost again! Mad to be out solo in such conditions; nothing on the news this evening!
Yes Megs Watch Blackadder/Baldrick every time it’s on. Still appears late evenings.
Reminds me of the ageing process watching him digging up Britain and even when he joined the queue to travel in trains here.
You’ve got me there! Who’s “Rishi” when he’s at home?
Jane I promise to have more goes at Paul and Rob, especially now that Winter 2021 has arrived early with rain, wind and dismal grey skies.
Can’t remember the “Fast Show” so that’s another for the to-do list.!
Slate- grey reminds we had another railway prog. showing how railways helped build Britain, this time digging slate out of a huge open mine in Wales.
Another railway prog. took us to N.Z. Beautiful scenery of course and amazing accounts of how they were built.
And did I see a GN message recently complaining of too many train programmes on TV?
As someone else asked, what motivates some members to tell what they don’t like? So what!? Just move on; some may be tongue-in-cheek, but unnecessary all the same!
Now here’s a real rant! People not leaving spoons upside down in the drying rack after washing up such that a pool of of washing-up water remains? And don’t mention dish-washer! Haven’t used it for 5 years; not very eco-friendly just for one person!
Now, re-adjusts halo, what’s next?
Jaxjacky Tinned sprouts!? Agreed, Yuck! I’d expect them to have turned black!
Ours are snap-frozen in clear plastic, like yours probably, such that you can see the quality and minus all the large cabbage-like leaves that you can get with fresh sprouts.
And half the price!
Someone recently resurrected an earlier thread pointing out the need for a “laugh thread” especially in the current environment, but it’s struggling like others before it! Does Covid infect British humour glands?
On the other hand we are seeing a slow but sure reduction in daily “new” cases; deaths still occur unfortunately, but only 4 or 5 or so.
Our Premier Dan was up in the witness box today for a few hours testifying over the the quarantine disaster not long ago when our 2nd wave started because of poor controls in the hotels where returning travellers spent 14 days. in quarantine. Supervision was handed to a private security firm which had no proper procedures for such work, instead of to the police/army! We’ve had a week of very senior officials parading before the Commission, claiming on oath, that they didn’t authorise the fiasco nor could they remember who did! Not very inspiring, but it’s a change to see them all struggling in public in front of the TV cameras.
I’m listening to Arti Shaw again as I type; “I didn’t know what time it was.....” Lovely!
So calming after all that politics.
Anyway, I know what time it is now 11.30pm and the Doona beckons.
Take care and Good Health

Another week, another Tory MP sex scandal!
Nicola Sturgeon’s husband Peter Murrell re-arrested over SNP finances.
