How did you get those to be in blue?

Fields of Gold sung by Eva Cassidy. We played to my brother on his last night of life - it breaks my heart to hear it, it's so bittersweet.

MawB2, it's links. You put 2 square brackets, the link, a space then what you want to appear in blue then 2 more square brackets. X

In the living years..never fails

JuneRose Sat 03-Oct-20 22:49:13

Oh yes bbnan that is a tear jerker too. Really though doesn't it also depend on where you are in life ? If things are bad almost any song can choke me up.

Not songs but ‘for those in peril on the sea’ reduces me to floods before I get to the end of the first verse.

Billie Holiday Strange Fruit
When you see the anguish and feeling on Billie's face singing this, it pulls on the heart- strings.

Dannyboy by anybody, even the Londonderry Air being played, Somewhere over the rainbow by Eva Cassidy and anything patriotic. Those make me sound so ancient, but more modern music doesn’t have the same effect on me.

Cosmic Dancer by T Rex
Romeo and Juliet by Dire Straits. The line "I can't do anything but I'd do anything for you" gets me every time.
You Were Always On My Mind by Elvis.
Something Inside So Strong by Labi Siffre.

There are others but it's getting late. Zzzzzz

Going Back-Sissal.

Going Home-Dusty Springfield.

On Days Like This and Softly As I Leave You- Matt Monroe.

Fields Of Gold-Sting.

Lots more, these come to mind.

Anything really from the albums by Johnny Cash that were produced by Rick Rubin but especially Hurt.

Tender by Blur. It was played when the coffin of a school friend of DD3 was carried into the Chapel for his funeral along a path lined by his friends. His poor mum went from child to child telling them not to cry but be happy they knew him! It has set me off now.sad

This is Miss Memphis Belle singing "Requiem for a Soldier."

I can't watch it or listen to it anymore. We lost Miss Memphis Belle to pancreatic cancer three years ago. We all love and miss you Lorraine.

Horse with No Name - America - this was late husband's favourite song of all time which we played at his funeral.
