Just took delivery of a new fridge. It's in a tight space. I pulled it out to find a serial number and have scraped the enamel along one side.!! Is there a cure?

You could try polishing it out with the stuff that is supposed to help with minor scratches on cars?

I think it's call T-cut.

Why do they put serial numbers in inaccessible places?

I doubt that you will ever need to pull it out again, so don’t worry about it, unless you have made a hole in the side, that wouldn’t be good.

You used to be able to get a little touch up stick for enamel things. About the size of a lipstick, but I don't know if it's still available.

Thank you for the tips.

Just a touch of enamel paint ? I think you can buy them in small tins, as for radiators for touching up scuffs etc.

I have just Googled 'Scraped enamel on fridge' and come up with several products which can be used to cover the scratches.

I would definitely use T cut or enamel paint before you push it back in place - would it rust otherwise?
