Following on from the thread about over rated singers, I am going to name a few singers who I think have great voices.

Matt Monro.
Andrea Boccelli
Judith Durham (The Seekers)
Karen Carpenter.
Neil Diamond.
Frank Sinatra.
Nat King Cole.

I realise some of these have featured on the other list also!

I have not seen the other thread but the obvious one is Tom Jones, absolutely amazing to have had such a career and be in such shape now.

Agnetha Fältskog is amazing too ad rarely gets mentioned

Ive seen Mick Hucknall live twice.
The first time just because a friend wanted to go.
I wasn't previously a fan by any stretch, but he is an absolutely outstanding singer. It's so effortless.
He is brilliant.
The second time was because I wanted DH to see how good he was; he didn't disappoint.

I love Amy MacDonald's voice and her singing technique.

I was listening to Joyce Didonato recently - she always sounds so relaxed while mastering amazing coloraturas.

I don't know if Barbara Dickson still sings but she has a lovely voice. I particularly liked her rendition of Easy Terms from Blood Brothers. I always meant to see that musical but never got round to it.

I like Andrea Bocelli and I used to like Enya but haven't heard her lately. In his day Elvis had a great voice and Roy Orbison of course.

grandmajet Mon 01-Mar-21 11:07:55

Andy Williams for a classic good voice.
Louis Armstrong for being just wonderful to listen to, he gives me goosebumps.

Antonia Mon 01-Mar-21 11:33:07

Karen Carpenter
Judith Durham
Roy Orbison
Chloebeth Hamer ( you have probably not heard of her, but before Covid I used to hear her singing in our town centre. She has the most amazing voice I have ever heard, and I wondered why she was singing in the North when she ought to be in some West End musical.
