Search on Etsy for Mondrian jewellery, there are some lovely pieces within your budget, and they tick your first 3 boxes.

You may find something in John Lewis, Accessories. They have 'fleece lined leather gloves' for £20. Plus other leather gloves, hats and scarves.

I’d like a (fake of course) fur scarf in a Secret Santa, a bit of luxury. There’s a nice two tone one from Whitestuff this season, but they are available from others too, and you can get bright or more traditional colours.

Whitestuff do lovely velvet scarves too in beautiful colours.

Or how about a magazine subscription. I've bought someone a year of Vogue magazines and paid about £20 I think.

Casdon, White Stuff now have 25% off - so my £29 dusky pink velvet puffer scarf is on it's way. (I always buy myself a little Christmas present.)

It’s so hard to buy for someone you don’t know well, and £30 is a significant amount to waste if they don’t like the present. So can I suggest that whatever you buy, you use cash and include the receipt?

Some good suggestions here, and yes I’ll enclose the receipt. Any other ideas?

I once had to buy a secret santa gift for a colleague. All I really knew about her was that she lived in the countryside and had two black labrador dogs.
I bought her a brightly coloured metal doorstop in the shape of a cockarel. She loved it and went out of her way to find out who bought it for her, and came and thanked me.
I know this doesn't help you much.

I love the sound of the doorstop, MiniMoon. I’ve bought a couple of people metal birds for the garden this year, made in the UK, and they’ve been well received.
