Good Morning Mick and all who follow. It’s dry with light cloud on Severnside. All round to yours later for chips ?

I’m up earlier because I’m going swimming. I’ve not been going lately. Making excuses to myself and finding something else that needs doing when really it can wait.

Have a good day everyone ??

grandMattie Tue 17-May-22 06:17:57

Good morning from a cloudy E Kent. Still dry as a bone. I’ll be watering as soon as I can find time and energy.
For those interested. The local hospices don’t have a transport system, they depend on available ambulances. It makes sense that I should drive him. What didn’t, was why the catheter couldn’t be administer locally. I think that the closest hospital has the busiest A&E ever, waits of 7-8 hours, whilst the other has a “minor injuries” clinic….
DH was almost back to normal mentally yesterday, instead of completely out with the fairies. We had a good session with the palliative care consultant. She agreed to him coming home on Wednesday in readiness for DD’s visit on Thursday and chemotherapy on Friday. He is coping well with the catheter, but I extracted a promise to have antibiotics at home so I can administer them immediately in case of the inevitable infections.
I have been adapting DH’s trousers, successfully, I think, so the waist isn’t so tight and painful for him.
Another hospice day today. See how well the catheter is working.
Have a good day everyone. I do think of you and send you good vibes when I have time to read the posts… Carpe diem. ??????☀️

Good morning!
It’s very cloudy here in Wiltshire, I do hope it brightens up.
Fingers crossed for your DH coming home grandMattie, and that he’s feeling more comfortable.
Taking a friend into town to the opticians this morning, I will get a few bits while I’m there - I need to get my watch battery changed. For as long as I can remember I always had to wear my watch, I rarely do now. I wonder if lockdown was the changing point? Something else that changed forever.
Anyway, I hope everyone has a good day x

Good morning from France where we are promised another beautiful hot day.

Yesterday was spent mostly reading, sitting in the sun and having a dip in the pool.

It has become a regular 'thing' that at about 17.00 all the couples here, four of us, meet up around a large table in the garden and open a bottle of fizz, wine or beer and chat for a couple of hours before retiring to our own gites to cook dinner. Very pleasant it is too.

Not sure of our plans today, not a lot probably.

Have a great Tuesday everyone, much love from France xxx

Scentia Tue 17-May-22 06:40:33

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where the sun has got his hat on ☀️
Off on Nanna duties shortly and as it is just me a DGD we are gardening today and cleaning her wardrobe out as some of her clothes are too small and her drawers and cupboards are fit to burst!
DGS is on holiday and dutifully suffered his travel sickness on the way, poor grandma❤️
Grandmattie I hope you can find time for yourself today ❤️❤️

Jaxjacky Tue 17-May-22 06:47:17

Morning all from a dry with high cloud S Hants.
Pleased you had a better day gMattie hope the rest of the week goes to plan.
Your holiday sounds delightful Sar.
No huge plans here, washing and gardening.
Enjoy your day all ??

Grandmadinosaur Tue 17-May-22 06:56:16

Good morning all from East Yorkshire. It is sunny and 12 degrees.

Coffee morning today and then GS here after school. I also need to go to the village to drop off a bag to a charity shop and one for the textile bank after my sort out yesterday. Only scratched the surface though.

Thoughts to you GM hope it all works out today.

Take care everyone.

dragonfly46 Tue 17-May-22 07:03:56

Good morning from sunny Leicestershire.

My cleaning fairies are coming today along with a man to fix the sofa and one to fix the water feature!
Other than that just dog walking.

Pleased your DH felt more like himself yesterday Mattie. My dad had a catheter for years and never had an infection. The district nurse would come regularly to change it.

Wishing everyone a good day.

ginny Tue 17-May-22 07:13:08

Good morning from a bright sunny N. Bucks.
Quick check in today as I’m off to a WI County meeting in Aylesbury. Luckily 4 of us are going together so I don’t have to drive. Floella Benjamin is the speaker, I wonder if she’ll take us through the round, square or arched window .

Wishing you all a good day and thoughts with all struggling with illness and other problems.

Good morning from a glorious Durham after a day of torrential rain yesterday. Mick have you spoken to your GP yet? Recovered yesterday from DGS1’s stay at the weekend - he’s like a tornado. Coffee with a friend this morning, then chiropodist in the afternoon and a visit to the toy shop to make a return.
Good to hear gM and her DH are making progress through the minefield of treatment - it reminds me of countless trips to the Freeman Hospital during lockdown, to get DH’s meds ‘fine tuned’. I hope things go to plan for her and her DH and he’s home tomorrow.
Have a good day.

Urmstongran Tue 17-May-22 07:21:02

Here Matt.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s forecast to be a beautifully sunny day with highs of 23°C. I feel as though I’m in Malaga ha! It’s Sports Day for the Boy Wonder so we will go over to the school this afternoon to cheer him on. Rain is on its way tonight apparently so this is a nice window to enjoy the event. Nice for all concerned. All the planning and organising the teachers have to do in advance will be paid off luckily! Must remember to take some change for raffle tickets and the ubiquitous ice cream van which will be parked up on the field. Oh, plus my sunglasses!

Have a good Tuesday all who can. x

Oopsadaisy1 Tue 17-May-22 07:22:05

Good morning from a bright and sunny Oxfordshire, hopefully the garden will be dry enough to do some work in later.
Wardrobes sorted yesterday, I’m determined to put all of my back (and much loved) T-shirts away and start wearing some colours, easier said than done……
Plumber coming today, the kitchen tap leaks from all its many joints, but the hot tap won’t turn on and the cold tap won’t turn off, methinks a whole new tap is needed, not just a handful of washers. Then the worktops will need to be sanded down. But not today.
Granmattie you and your husband are always in my thoughts, hope everyone else has as good a day as possible, Mick I haven’t had proper home made chips since my Mum died!

Pittcity Tue 17-May-22 07:22:20

Good morning from sunny Colchester. A hot day in the offing.

Good morning Mick and everyone following. ?

It’s going to be a beautiful day here today. Just been out to put the washing on the line and it has that glorious early morning smell after the rain. It lifts the spirits.

grandMattie you and your DH are in my thoughts as always ?

Good morning everyone from a beautifully sunny day in Northampton. Will be going out to stake.my peonies up later. Bedrooms to dust and Hoover first though. Must remember to pay the balance for my August cruise today.

A routine check-up at the dentist early afternoon, so I shall miss my health walk, but I plan on walking to the cafe after the dentist to meet everyone for a coffee, should take no more than 10 minutes to walk it. Then a gentle walk home afterwards and will sit in the garden and read before dinner. No cooking tonight as there is enough left over from last night's chicken soup to reheat.

Have a good day everyone, and may the sun shine on you all.

Gingster Tue 17-May-22 07:38:28

Good morning all from a beautiful sunny Suffolk coast. It was breezy yesterday but such warm air.
The heating engineer met us as we arrived and spent over an hour with us going through our new system. Goodness we need a degree in how it all works. ?. After the tutorial he said ‘don’t worry about all that, just use the thermostat , as and when you need to.?. I expected mess and dust everywhere , but all was clean and tidy. He’d even put all our china back on the dresser! ?. What a super chap! ❤️.

Dh mowed the lawns and I pottered around putting things back in the cottage. Windows to clean, tubs to be emptied of bulbs and plants to be bought, strimming needed down the steps to the beach and a trip to the tip. Phew!

DS1 and2 are coming for a weekend in June to give us a much needed hand in clearing out sheds and garage, a bit of painting and fence repairs. Lovely boys ❤️.

Sar your holiday sounds fab. A bit of socialising, a lot of reading, venturing out when you feel like it and most of all relaxing in the sunshine. How lovely!

GM hope your day is ‘OK! ‘ ?.

Scentia enjoy your gardening with tiny Gd. ?‍?.

Urms I hope your boy wonder does well at the sports day. ?

Enjoy your day out ginny . All girls together ?

Hoping you all have a pleasant day ???

cornergran Tue 17-May-22 07:39:09

Morning Mick, morning All from an already warm corner of Somerset

The weather is much sunnier than I am this morning. Mr C it seems had a cold (all tests negative) rather than hay fever which he has kindly shared. Little sleep for me so several naps on the cards today and not much else. It will pass, quickly I hope, minor in the scheme of things .

Phone still not fixed, another call from Apple land due tomorrow. It’s usable, just an irritating fault. Best dig out something cool to wear today, we’ve also got 23 degrees forecast before some rain arrives early evening.

That sounds a better day grandMattie, hoping for the same for you both today.

Hope Tuesday is kind to us all.

monk08 Tue 17-May-22 07:51:11

Marydoll Tue 17-May-22 07:53:45

Good morning all from Glasgow, where it's 11°C, with rain forecast AGAIN!

Glad to hear yesterday was a more productive day for you, GM.
I'm so envious of your holiday, Sar. It sounds so idyllic!
Praying that all is well with your DIL and your new grandchild, Baubles, a joyful time.

My plans to continue the clear out were disrupted yesterday. Our PP is still feeling unwell and our curate realised that a bus hadn't been booked for a parish trip to Carfin Grotto on Sunday.
I spent ages trying to organise it, because just about all companies were fully booked. Then bingo! I managed to get hold of a local company, whom we used for school trips.
Our nursery mums used this company forty years ago, (which of course I mentioned) to do the nursery run, when they first started out. I then realised the person, who answered the phone was the DIL of the original owner and best friend of our school secretary. Bingo! Duly booked, with an excellent price into the bargain!

This of course meant my plans to fill even more bags were thwarted!
We are off to the charity shop this morning, with a removal van! I have been quite ruthless, ( I mean, how many pairs of white trousers can a girl have, especially when they no longer fit?) My summer clothes seem to have shrunk in storage! ☹

We then need to go for compost. DD had left a bag of compost in the garden, to repot her radishes and rocket. I noticed it was missing. The culprit? Mr Mdoll, of course!!!?
His excuse, Nobody told me! Of course we did, he just wasn't listening!!

Wishing you all a pleasant day, whatever your plans and I hope, for those who are struggling, your mountains are not too difficult to climb? ?

baubles Tue 17-May-22 07:57:51

Good morning all from South Lanarkshire where it’s looking a little brighter.

Thank you for your good wishes yesterday, we may not meet the new baby till Thursday as his Mum is unsurprisingly feeling a little tired. She has her mum who has come to stay for a while to help so I think I’ll leave them be for a day or two.

It was so lovely to be back at the Burrell yesterday, Marydoll your DD and her colleagues have done a grand job. There were many exhibits I remember seeing but also some which were new to me. I also bumped into an old friend so that was a bonus.

It’s DD’s wedding anniversary today so we’ll go over this evening to let them go out for a meal together.

Have the best day possible everyone. ??

Morning all from a possibly damp West Oxfordshire. I have a vat of chicken stock to box, label and freeze this morning. Then we are having lunch out at one of our favourite places. OH is out tonight so I might catch up with last Saturday’s Beck.
