"International Cat Day started in the year 2002. It was created to shed light on the various forms of cat abuse and raise awareness on ways to help and protect them. This year's theme is "Cat-friendly resources." Take the chance to donate to your local animal shelter or adopt a stray cat to commemorate this August 8."

Wish I still had my wonderful boy so we could have marked the day togethersad.

Just come across this - hope it is legible as it was a screenshot.
Brian Bilston nails it again!

I have given Molly a few Dreamies to mark the event.
She was very grateful and hopes these special days come round a bit more frequently.

Milo and Ripley are pleased to hear this!

Taking the rest of the day off.

I don't have an actual cat but I have this picture.

FarNorth Mon 08-Aug-22 12:12:32

That's a brilliant poem Maw.

FannyCornforth Mon 08-Aug-22 12:16:12

Maw that’s fabulous!

I’m going to have to see if I have a photo of Rosie. She usually looks like Stig of the dump.
She’s got a first class pedigree but you’d think she was feral.
She’s currently got huge areas of shaved fur.
I love her dearly but she’s been such a handful, and been the cause of many a sleepless night

Mawthemerrier what a great poem. I will send it to my DD. Her cat does demand her feline rights quite loudly sometimes.

FannyCornforth Mon 08-Aug-22 12:22:10

Here she is. Looking suitable disdainful.
Yes, that is a garden chair. It’s the most comfortable one after having my op; but I have to fight her for it.

International Cat Day, huh! Well, I'm in a strop with one of my cats. She woke me up at 1.30 this morning meowing for food. Because I didn't get up that instant, she looked at me, then piddled up the bedroom radiator which puddled onto, then into, the carpet!!! Grrrr! And, yes, she did get fed but had to wait until I'd scrubbed the carpet.

No treats for that one today hmm

annsixty Mon 08-Aug-22 12:59:34

Looking at these beautiful cats, how many of you have to be gone over with the sticky paper roller gizmo before going out of the door?

SueDonim Mon 08-Aug-22 13:04:25

Every ruddy day is cat day in this house. ??

Aveline Mon 08-Aug-22 13:08:08

Finn demanding Dreamies with menaces! (He got them of course!)

SueDonim Mon 08-Aug-22 13:10:45

My boy, fast asleep. ?

Aveline Mon 08-Aug-22 13:11:50

I've been trying to post that pic of Finn! Will try again.

Aveline Mon 08-Aug-22 13:12:38

Phone playing up! Sorry for repeat post.

Visgir1 Mon 08-Aug-22 13:13:18

Happy International Cat Day everyone.
From the Staff of Peggy and Maggie

TerriBull Mon 08-Aug-22 13:16:56

Unfortunately I don't have an International Cat sad even a bog standard national cat would do, I curse my family they're all allergic to the felines, apparently hmm

Love the cat pictures posted all beauties, The ancient Egyptians were right, they are Gods and should still be worshiped as such.

Happy International Cats Day to moggies far and wide.

FarNorth Mon 08-Aug-22 13:17:20

1.30am? Yowling? Piddling?
I'd give her a severe talking to, not food. (Unless I'd actually forgotten to feed her.)

Cat lovers, are you aware that on Amazon you can buy a spray for around £6 when applied to carpets and mattresses which can get rid of odour and stains? Occasionally it has to be applied twice but it is a case of wet, leave and let it dry.

Buy one which specifically mentions faeces and urine and that covers vomit also. For a carpet, I would think you may have to try a corner first.

My babies

HowVeryDareYou Mon 08-Aug-22 14:27:47

My Mr Cooper. He's about 19, deaf, only got one eye now, hasn't got any fangs left. He keeps plodding on.
