I'm not far behind you (62) and see the next 10 years (if I'm lucky enough to get them) my 'warming up and winding down' to old age decade.
And at 72, it's on with the purple and the red hat!

flixukay, what a lovely post. Unfortunately I hate purple and look ridiculous in hats but rest assured, I will think of something.
Daughter moaned the other day that she’s 41 soon. Kate and Hetty, I guess it’s all relative. I sure didn’t have so many aches and pains at 41!

Happy Birthday Aussie gran. I have changed the words of that song to ‘when I’m 84’, which is more appropriate to us and our friends!

Oh yes I remember being 64…..

I also remember singing along with the song when it first came out and thinking “64? Crikey, that’s ancient”. How little we know.

I read somewhere that we only view "old" as being 20 years older than ourself, whatever age we are.

Strangely enough I have developed a penchant for purple (lavender) and red woolly hats. Oh! And cats.

64 is a mere girl, I'm a few months older than DH he reminds me every New Years Eve that I will be whatever the year the coming year, but it's not until the autumn, I laugh when his comes up just in the New Year and I call him my toy boy.
