I don't go to my hairdressers on a regular basis but when I go in to make an appointment they always say 'who does your hair' and bring forward the same person. I would like a change of person! surely I'm not alone in this. I suppose I'll have to go elsewhere to get this.

Can't you just say that you would like to try a different stylist?

Yes this happens a lot. I can remember once saying to the girl on reception, I’d like ‘John’ to do my hair instead and I was constantly referred to as ‘Marys’ client ( the previous hairdresser) John seemed very uncomfortable as if he’d stolen a client from another stylist even though it was my choice!

Recently I spent 15 minutes on the phone trying to change from my stylist to someone who had more experience in the same salon and I was told they weren’t available, even though I said I was flexible on times and dates!
So I sympathise lemsip
I’m not sure what the answer is apart from going to a different salon.
