Good morning from a still windy but dry Whiddon Down.
Yesterday morning, I was delighted to be visited by a gas engineer, who got the CH boiler working and will return at a later date to service it. Apparently, it was last serviced nine years ago when it was first brought here when new!
The new Wi-Fi on site works well so I was able to enjoy a Zoom call with DH yesterday afternoon, amongst other online delights.
Condolences to Grandmabatty on the loss of your friend but what a blessing for her to have had you in her life, especially during her final hours.
I hope you enjoy your holiday BlueBalou, which sounds like just what you need. A few Gransnetters sound a little down at present, largely as a result of the dismal weather, it seems, which is understandable. Blossom of various kinds has suddenly bloomed in Torbay, including this magnolia, captured earlier this week.
Urmstongran: you'll be missed on here and not just for the Matt cartoons, but for your interesting posts about your life, especially the trains and Spain. Take care of yourself.
Today I’m returning to Torquay to fulfil commitments there over the next few days. It’s only about a 45 minute journey, if the traffic keeps moving on the A30, A38 and A380. Very straightforward. An alternative route skirting Dartmoor takes greater concentration but is worth it in fair weather.
Enjoy whatever you’ve planned and safe travels to those on the move. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩
