Good Morning Everyone ,
A dark but a dry start here in brackley add another 30 minutes or so and it should be dawn.
Today the usual routine , and pay my £2 fare one way , returning on my bus pass .
Still not busy out but think illness is on the increase with a mix of measles and covid amongst some .
Take Care,

grandMattie Tue 27-Feb-24 05:41:36

Good morning from a dry, chilly Bristol. I hope the polar winds have died down. Yes, Mick, the days are getting longer; just over a month for the clocks to go forward too!
While fiddling through a plastic folder for appliqué patterns, I was thrilled to find my “lost” signet ring. About a fortnight ago, it went awol. I searched high and low for it, and decided that I wasn’t going to find it. Ever. It must have fallen off at a previous rummage. The trouble is that my fingers shrink in winter and swell in summer, so there rarely is a right fitting…
Today, I’m going into town for various things, including having my glasses adjusted.
Later, I’ll start the appliqué cushion covers. This first one is orange tulips on unbleached calico.
May today bring relief to those in pain and/or distress, including urms, baggs, kalu, marydoll and the ones I have missed. Carpe diem, Carpe horam 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 6° and damp. GrandMattie that is good news about your ring. Mick there are lots of viruses still lingering.
Yesterday was a busy day with dgs2. He had a good day. Today will be much the same. Nursery drop off and pick up later. I have a bit of a cold which is annoying. Have a good day all

Ashcombe Tue 27-Feb-24 06:39:22

Good morning from a dry, calm and chilly Torbay.

We’re already up and breakfasted as DH is off to London to sort out his €* tickets for the next few visits. I’m the chauffeuse to Newton Abbot!

Good news about your ring, granndMattie!
I hope Mizuna got her release from hospital yesterday and our poorly friends are comfortable..

Greyduster Tue 27-Feb-24 06:40:02

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Another lovely sunrise in South Yorkshire but we will have rain later on. We had a full double rainbow late yesterday afternoon. I have nothing much to do today except for my volunteering session at the school, so will catch up with paperwork this morning and clean my bathroom. Exciting stuff!
Have the best day you can, folks.

karmalady Tue 27-Feb-24 06:49:14

Good morning, uninspiring weather in s somerset today but the wind has dropped and there will not be much rain

I am faffing about at the moment, a bit of this and a bit of that. Spinning, paperwork, bits of unimportant cleaning, a walk

The sky is very red right now, must be bad weather ahead

Have a good day

Mizuna Tue 27-Feb-24 06:54:27

Home yesterday evening. My favourite oft-repeated photo, no apologies for it, just for my sheer joy. It looks chilly and fresh on my patio in Cornwall and I'll sit out later. I was a bit in awe of all your kindnesses yesterday, thank you so much. I have to applaud our hospital managing the junior doctors' strike; I would never have known it was happening. Anyway, eight experts later - including an asthma specialist - and my sons debated who would do the pick-up (the youngest won). A drive-through McDonald's to celebrate and the joy of home again. I am so blessed.

Today, just cleaning the flat gradually and working out the new medications. I still can't believe a year ago I was all 'Oh, I never even take paracetamol'. 🤣 I'd love to breathe the sea air but I'll be Mrs Sensible for a change and stay put. 😄

Bonnybanko Tue 27-Feb-24 06:54:55

Good morning all it’s a dry and windy start to the day here on the east coast of Fife.
I’ve sent for paracetamol from Amazon this morning, it will be much quicker than getting them off the drs or going out. I’m unable to go to the shops to buy them as I don’t get a carer for social hrs today, and I’ve dreadful toothache. Luckily I’ve a dental appointment in a couple of days. The toothache is intermittent due to a deep root filling I had a while ago and eating cold icecream set it off, fingers crossed I don’t need any invasive treatment

Take care my gn friends

Glad you are home Mizuna.

Bellasnana Tue 27-Feb-24 07:13:58

Good morning from Malta where it is hazy and 21°C.

I’m with the boys, they are fed, clean and dressed. Both playing happily bless them.

So glad you are back home Mizuna, there’s nothing like being in your own bed.

Very sorry you have toothache Bonnybanko, hopefully the painkillers will help until you can get to your dentist.

Will be watching tennis later when I get home. I am usually quite idle once I get home having been kept on my toes by these two little chaps.

Wishing you all a good day.☀️

luluaugust Tue 27-Feb-24 07:14:35

Good morning from a bright W Kent. Not sure what’s happening today, we will have to see how DHs sore throat goes. Lovely cleaning lady made clear her thoughts about our hall carpet, we were thinking of changing it anyway so looks like we will be. DD2 phoned she is finding teaching difficult this year due to two lots of parents who seem to think it’s her job to bring up their children. She loves teaching but the parents are really wearing her down at present.
Glad you got home Mizuna and your ring turned up gM
Bet wishes to all

NanKate Tue 27-Feb-24 07:20:00

Good morning Mick and All from a sunny cold South Bucks.

I’m off to play Rummikub with my friends, then back to watch the tennis like you Bellasnana. Counting the days till we get Rafa back on court. 🎾🎾

Taichinan Tue 27-Feb-24 07:20:29

Good morning. Grey, wind and rain forecast for the Angus coast this morning, so no frost for a change. What a great rainbow photo greyduster!
Good that you found your ring grandmattie.
I'm up early for no good reason. My body clock seems to have shifted and is allowing me five and a half hours' solid sleep - but no more! It's lovely to have such a long spell of solid sleep though, so I'm not complaining.
My new dishwasher was duly plumbed in yesterday, and then it was off to the tai chi committee meeting. The first was great, but I'm finding these meetings very hard as I just cannot hear and it is so frustrating. I've done all I can now with respect to hearing aids, so I shall just have to get on with it and accept my fate! In the great scheme of things it's not such a terrible thing - just very isolating.
Anyway, off to tai chi class this morning and then the usual round of shopping. We are supposed to be having a sunny afternoon so I shall enjoy the garden. I'll probably go and chat to the fish in the pond - I don't hear what they say either, but it doesn't seem to matter 😂
Mizuna I hope you managed to escape yesterday and are now recuperating at home. And Jax I hope your knee is slowly getting better. Have a good day everyone 🦋☀️🌷

GrannyGravy13 Tue 27-Feb-24 07:22:34

Morning all, the sun is shining but it’s rather chilly here in S E Essex.

Pleased you are home Mizuna , good that you have found your ring grandMattie , hope your toothache eases bonnybanko

I was still wide awake at 4.30am, must have dozed off just after, and woke up at 6.20am, I feel so tired 😴😴😴

I had a plan in my head for must do jobs not sure if they will be achieved. Must remember to pick up The Imp from pre-school and the 9yr old from school though…

Have a good 🙋‍♀️

Taichinan Tue 27-Feb-24 07:23:00

Crossed posts - glad you're home Mizuna! And thanks for sharing that wonderful photo again x

kittylester Tue 27-Feb-24 07:25:17

Good morning all from a dry and chilly North Leicestershire.

I have a singing lesson this morning and I will probably take some trousers back to M&S this afternoon.

Have the best day possible everyone.

GrannyIvy Tue 27-Feb-24 07:28:11

Good morning from a dry chilly Cambridgeshire. Another day of pottering. The GC are popping by with DD2 on the way home from school to give us a gift from their holiday last week otherwise just a quiet one as still recovering from last week’s virus.

Pleased to hear you have escaped the hospital Mizuna and wish you well in your recovery.

Sending BW to everyone who is poorly or struggling. Spring is arriving and yes the clocks change next month which always a positive!!

Take care and stay safe to all.

Pittcity Tue 27-Feb-24 07:29:55

Good morning from sunny Colchester. I have developed a cold, probably courtesy of DGChildren. I won't be going in to the charity shop today but will nurse a hot honey and lemon and snooze. DH has gone fishing so I'll have peace. 🤧
Love to all 🦩 x

Grammaretto Tue 27-Feb-24 07:36:53

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Rain is lashing the windows.
Chiropractor this morning which is a sticking plaster as I wait patiently for a replacement hip. Gaelic tonight.

Yesterday didn't go according to plan. I took an earlier bus into Edinburgh so I could visit my bank. The local branch closed years ago and sometimes a human is required. She spent an hour with me sorting out best rates of interest and savings 🤣 for my pension.

Afterwards I joined the U3A art appreciators at one of Edinburgh's lovely galleries. I came home early as I was exhausted.

I'm so glad your missing ring turned up gMattie I am glad that you are home from hospital Mizuna

It's my DGS birthday today in NZ. So nice to have been with him recently and to give him his present in person.

I hope you all have a good day.

Whitewavemark2 Tue 27-Feb-24 07:37:01

Good morning from a bright but very chilly South Downs.

Not sure why but feeling very low at the moment which is not remotely like me. I’m sure it won’t last and I must listen to my (desceased)mother “for goodness sake shake yourself!” So that is what I will do today - I will keep busy - I spent too long yesterday feeling sorry for myself by sitting gloomily on the sofa.

I apologise for such a miserable post! It won’t happen again!

Everyone else have a splendid day.

Peace and harmony to the world (I really do need to get a grip when I see what others are facing.

brook2704 Tue 27-Feb-24 07:44:08

Good morning, everybody from Inverness, where it’s a cloudy and windy start of the day
So pleased to hear you’re home mizuna good idea to stay, put and take it easy for a few days
I’m off out to meet my friend for a coffee this afternoon, so looking forward to that and having a good catch up on all the news
So hard for your daughter luluaugust hope she gets some support and help from her colleagues
Sorry to hear you’re struggling with your hearing Taichinan and there’s nothing much more you can do, it must be so difficult for you. I love the idea about talking to the fish though, it sounds very relaxing 😀
Thinking of everybody with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day bring

cornergran Tue 27-Feb-24 07:44:27

Morning Mick, morning All. A red sky has given way to heavy cloud. Looks like our corner of Somerset will be drenched again.

Routine stuff here yesterday. Todays excitement is a grocery delivery and a hair cut. I’ve been very happy with the hairdresser until the last time when the scissors were wielded with too much enthusiasm. If the same today I’ll not go back which will be a shame as the salon is just five minutes walk away. Mr C will return to a jigsaw of the Northern Lights, it’s a difficult if beautiful one, there will be much sighing I fear.

Pleased you’re home and being sensible mizuna. Hooray for a found ring grandmattie. Beautiful rainbows greyduster

Best move before the groceries get here. Hope Tuesday is kind to us all.

GrannySomerset Tue 27-Feb-24 07:44:43

Another frosty morning and a dry day forecast which we really need, so a positive start for to the day. Supermarket run this morning then must put my mind to next Sunday’s lay service in our church. I usually have a theme in mind but am struggling at present.

So glad to read that Mizuna is safely home - nothing like one’s own bed.

Alygran Tue 27-Feb-24 08:05:39

Good morning from North Yorkshire. It dull and showery.
Lovely rainbows Greyduster. I saw one that seemed to land in my garden as I came home from Richmond yesterday. No sign of the pot of gold!
Pleased you are home Mizuma
I am out this evening with my ladies group for a meal in a local pub. Until then the day is free so I need to decide what to do.
Have a good day everyone.
