Fairy or Star? Or something else?

I've always had a star.
In my childhood we had a succession of Angel's made by us children.
My lovely old silver shiny star has finally broken and cant be repaired.
I cant find a direct replacement. Lots of stars but for standing or hanging little ones.
Maybe I'll get some ideas from this thread and try a new idea?

Memo to self, must have a rummage in the loft tomorrow to find the tree and all the Christmas things.?

Yes, they are meant to be angels not fairies!?
We always had a white and gold angel on the tree when I was a child, and also when our own children were young. At some point we then bought a star which we have had ever since.

I thought it was an angel! That’s what we have, when we put up a tree - never a guarantee in our household l

A fairly elderly fairy with moulting feather wings for us.

We have a traditional looking Father Christmas on both our trees. They have long red velvet robes trimmed with gold,( not the red and white Santa suit).

My DD , grown up with a house and fiance of her own, still gets the honour of placing them on the top of the trees ,after all the other decorations are in place. This is one of our much loved traditions.

Take care xx

A fairy angel. Never seem to get over the Christmas gluttony as she has been on the very plump side since she arrived a good 25 years ago.

No room for a tree here. We may have given up decorations for now. Too much else going on.

I like your little nativity scene Mollygo.

Always a star, but I do like your fairy Laura.

My new fairy last year, it’s a porcelain doll I then dressed and decorated, I love her

I wouldn't mind either a fairy or star but we have a sweet little robin at the top of ours.

I want a fairy for the top of my tree. I haven’t seen a proper one for years. It’s all angels and stars and everything but(including an owl)

But for me it’s got to be a fairy

It’s a really tiny tree though

We have a star now, but we used to have a fairy when our children were small.

Ladyleftfieldlover Tue 30-Nov-21 21:02:44

Always a Fairy. We’ve had her for 40 years and her name is Mary Mary.

Angel/fairy here too. She's older than my eldest son, 43, and has been patched up a bit over the years. She looks a bit unsteady up there on the top of the tree but manages to stay up every year!

Angel/fairy here, with a star underneath. When DS1 was a youngster in a house share with a pal they had a plastic bat. I like the idea of an owl.

Mollygo Tue 30-Nov-21 20:11:56

Love that fairy Lauranorder

Used to have an angel but now have a star.

Crotcheted Angel my sister bought me from Budapest. I’ve tried stars, fairies, and angels, especially the toilet roll tube and tissue made by the children. Maybe once Covid eases we could make them like these figures to use up the masks.

Always the ‘tarty’ fairy. Made many eons ago from a daughters toy doll with crepe paper, tinsel and glitter and bits off a broken pearl necklace and so called because she has no knickers on.
