Just had one of our suites cleaned. It already looks great and hasn't dried properly yet and I know from past experience it will look even better tomorrow.
Now, should I stop the dogs from going on for cuddles? Absolutely not.
That sounds great Smileless2012 glad it looks so good. There is probably no way of stopping the dogs going on for cuddles now they are used to doing it.
I do need a new sofa, its not broken but just had it for a while and want a newer model. I bought a lovely throw and matching cushions two weeks ago so I may just keep this sofa until after Christmas. It's funny really when I went looking for a sofa (the one I have) I knew exactly what I was looking for. In the shop was a big comfy sofa but also extra long just what I wanted, The shop manager told me that the sofa had been specially made for a distinguished Saudi Arabian man but then he had returned to the shop and changed his mind and took some expensive leather suites. The manager said he was finding it difficult to sell the sofa as it was unconventionally large. That was my perfect sofa and I got some discount as well and more to the point the dogs had all the room in the world to stretch out.
So what you'll need to do 3nanny is find a shop that has another sofa that was made especially for a distinguished Saudi Arabian man, who then changed his mind. Shouldn't be too hard.
It sounds rather fab; big, comfy and extra long; not sure if it were me that I'd want to part with it.
Smileless2012, I have thought several times I wish I could find the Saudi Arabian man he certainly had good taste and he left that sofa almost as if it were there with my name on it. The reason I am keeping it until after Christmas is because it will be hard to part with it but after several years it has lost a bit of it's firmness. Hugshelp : there is no real need to cover it as from day one when I bought it I have always had some type of thick throw over it and the sofa without throws is fairly clean. One cushion on the end of it is a tiny bit frayed as one of the dogs was trying to make herself extra comfortable and she pulled off the throw and had a little scratch on the cushion I was not too pleased with her but I suppose it is only a big comfy bed to her.

3nanny6 You might be interested in this company. Based up north but I think they work all over the country. If not there might be something similar near enough to wherever you are based!
Thank-you for that link Madgran and they look a fantastic company. I am not in any of their areas, they are based up North and they serve all of the North west. My aunt had one of her sofas covered in the past she paid £1000 which I thought was expensive even though it looked good. I would just get a new one and not bother with all that. I am based down South.
As far as covering sofas: we cover ours, but in a strict sense it isn't necessary as ours are microsuede. This fabric is stain repellant and doesn't require a finish such as Scotch Guard. Coincidentally my parents have the exact same set as we do - in the exact same colour! The only distinction is that we bought the three piece suite (on sale; we didn't discover they had the same one until afterward) and they just bought two pieces, the sofa and love seat.
I feel increasingly excluded, pushed out and discriminated against in the estrangement forum despite all my efforts to be inclusive, unbiased and open minded.
Can anyone please explain to me how that's supportive, friendly or even fair?
