A friend sang the praises of ox cheek, apparently considered a delicacy by some, so I thought I'd give it a try, (as mentioned on a different thread). Did the whole browning thing, got some stout to braise it in and included the usual casserole additions - veg. and herbs etc., cooked it on low all afternoon and generally petted it along, served it with a flourish........ and it was AWFUL! It tasted unpleasant and I didn't like the texture one bit. Urrgh. What a waste.....
