Please would someone put me out of my misery!

Yesterday?? I read somewhere, which thread? that someone had made Delia's Breakfast Baps.

I have searched skimmed the threads, and can' t find it, so don't know who to ask.

If you happen to read this, please could you put the recipe on here for me?

I googled it, but only got # books I could buy.
I used to have Delia's great big cookery book, with everything in it, but it has been lent, a long time ago, to someone, and not returned

Can't help you, I'm afraid. I've asked DH if he's seen Delia's Breakfast Baps but his reply is unprintable. grin

I was just thinking what Terry Wogan's response would have been grin

????????

“Janet and John go shopping for baps”......grin

merlotgran Sat 28-Mar-20 10:17:51

John doesn't know what a bap is so he asks the nice lady behind the counter if she has some to show him.

We do miss Terry Wogan. The day always started with such great mischief.

Auntieflo Sat 28-Mar-20 10:20:16

Oooh, you are awful, you lot, but I like you.?

Now, has anybody got the recipe I was looking for?

Don't all rush at once.

Nico97 Sat 28-Mar-20 10:21:08

Yes I do says the lady behind the counter. Would you like to feel how fresh they are grin

Eglantine21 Sat 28-Mar-20 10:21:08

Is this where I say something about needing bigger buns?

Melanie Frontage and Nora Treadwell and her 'Tan and touch up' emporium? Listening to Terry made my drive to work a pleasure. Looking at the other drivers stuck in traffic they were all laughing too. So much better than that sugary Zoe Ball.

merlotgran Sat 28-Mar-20 10:22:27

The nice lady behind the counter said that baps are better if they're warm and soft and told John he could squeeze one.

John cried when Janet slapped his hand and dragged him out of the shop!

Don't forget Chuffer Dandridge the retired actor manager always in need of a white fiver!

Lisagran Sat 28-Mar-20 10:24:25

Oh, those were the days grin. I loved listening to him

merlotgran Sat 28-Mar-20 10:28:14

His banter with Paul Walters made many a drive into work in heavy traffic bearable.

merlotgran Sat 28-Mar-20 10:29:04

Remember when Johnny Walker and Sally Traffic stole one of the pips?

Purpledaffodil Sat 28-Mar-20 10:30:36

Here it is. Hope it’s clear enough

Purpledaffodil Sat 28-Mar-20 10:31:50

It’s in the Complete Cookery course page 52

Purpledaffodil Sat 28-Mar-20 10:35:50

Do let us know if you made them successfully Auntieflo?

I was just about to say that this isn't helping a poor old soul, who only wants to use her strong bread flour and yeast, to make some nice baps. ( I do actually have two of my own, but one is now different, a bit perkier than it's twin, but nevertheless, it still fills up a bra cup!)
I digress, but then so have a lot of you ?.
Then along comes Purpledaffodil, and gives me a recipe. Many thanks .

My complete Delia Cookery book is no longer in my kitchen.

I promise that I will let you see the results, if they are worth looking at.

Thanks to you all, you cheered up my morning.
