It happened to me yesterday (16/8/22) The day before I could hear my sister on the phone. Now I can't. I've had one deaf ear for a while and got used to it. Through the hot days recently my hearing did seem a bit worse.
Suddenly - Bang - I'm deaf.

Now communicating by email and text. Trying to answer the phone: "Sorry, I know you are there but I can't hear you. Please email or text me!"
What would I do without technology...?

What I have managed: got myself to the GP for inspection and advice. Made an appt for tomorrow for ear wax cleaning. And another for a hearing test, the earliest I got was the 25th. I'm amazed at both of these!

Hi Alie, I had this happen to me. Please get yourself to an audiologist as soon as possible. Do you have an ear nose and throat hospital that you could go to as an emergency patient. The doctors at the hospital put me on cortisone tablets for a few weeks ,which i had to then taper off. They said had I not had the cortisone within the 7 day period of loosing my hearing,I would remain permanently deaf. good luck.
