I need ready made curtains, pencil heading, has anyone any suggestions where I should look, I prefer to see them in a shop now they are reopening, not buy on line.

Dunelm. They alter ready made curtains if needed. My living room windows are an odd size. Had to buy bigger curtains cost £60 to have them shortened by it was done expertly. I got those from the store. But just ordered my bedroom ones on line . They are perfect. If anyone has a deep mattress Dunelm do fitted sheets in various depths.

Dunelm or John Lewis for me. Good selection at both.

A tip for anyone shortening their own curtains (not eyelet style). Shorten them from the top, NOT at the hem. It maintains the factory finished hem and it is much quicker and easier.

Any more ideas about curtains?
I had a quote from Dunelm for an inexpensive fabric (which was a massive compromise as I preferred pricey ones) and it was over £600...

Would consider a second hand pair... Nothing suitable on Ebay.

Next - Home stores. You can see them and feel them.
We have eyelet top curtains in bedrooms which have lasted and still look good after 5 years. (ours are dry clean only - some people prefer washable ones).

One thing to remember if you have a really wide window to cover.
If the curtains are ready made and you need two sets, if it's patterned the prs will not match.

You will need to have them made if you are concerned about pattern matching.

Yes Jeanie you are right - I actually saw this in a shop display once!
