I need a lightweight tray that can be easily carried in one hand. The big plastic ones that care shops sell are to large and cumbersome for me.

*too large

Maybe something like these?

Jaxjacky Thu 06-May-21 16:33:26

Sorry Blossoming not very clear, Google lightweight tray with handle.

Callistemon Thu 06-May-21 16:38:25

Thanks for this thread and the answer, it will solve a problem for me.

Thanks for replying Jaxjacky unfortunately we already have one of those and it’s too big and heavy for me, especially once it has a couple of mugs of tea on it.

How about something like this Blossoming? It has a rubbery anti slip surface so the cups or glasses can't go flying.

Does it have to be a tray? When my mum couldn't carry things she had a wheeled trolley www.completecareshop.co.uk/kitchen-aids/kitchen-trolleys/bardon-wheeled-trolley-spare-tray?gclid=Cj0KCQjwp86EBhD7ARIsAFkgakjtzINjHL6HFcEKh3o2aWyKpYiEjTJAEVm0dC33wxY9JoVRwW8CaYwaAuBnEALw_wcB&sku=L64270

I only have the use of one hand and I need to be able to carry things upstairs so anything wheeled doesn’t work, I’m afraid.

That's what I'll need to do so thanks for the advice that it's rather heavy.

What about a wicker basket - what would be lightweight.

Riverwalk Thu 06-May-21 18:23:23

That would be lightweight - my pic didn't appear for some reason!

I have seen an amazing one.....but I can’t remember where! It was small circular and had a handle similar to a basket. I shall go and search and report back!

We have a metal one which I seem to remember was marketed as an Aegean tray - Greek tavernas use them. It is brilliant, especially as our sitting room is upstairs from the kitchen.

Not the one I had in mind but available and not outlandishly expensive.

Blossoming Thu 06-May-21 19:49:49

Thanks Midgey, that’s more the kind of thing I had in mind. MrsJamJam, I’ll Google Aegean tray.

I have bought a Tipsi tray made by a company called Single Handed. It arrived today, so haven’t had time to test it out but it feels good to carry. I’ll let you know how it goes.
