Do you all keep your house contents cover up to date by getting your precious items valued? I am thinking particularly of gold, which has shot up in value. If you do not uprate your cover and you have a loss, the insurance company could decide you are under-insured and refuse your claim.

I do not have any precious items! I do not attach a lot of importance to possessions so my house contents have been the same for years, except for the odd piece of technology.

You are so right Greatnan, most of the stuff stolen in our burglary 6 weeks ago, were not updated, and we are going to get something back but not much. Most things, not all, we're old and inherited and not reply cable. The .i wpild also say if you have anything really precious to you, photograph it.few things insured separately were under insured.

I have few possessions also, but I thought some of you who had lived in the same house for many years might have some antiques, gold, etc. that should be revalued.
