What do you want from tomorrow's budget? I'd like to see the Chancellor reintroduce enhanced tax allowances for over 65s. What would you like?

I'm not sure I'll be any better off thanks to this budget. And I just miss the cut for the flat rate pension by two days as well sad

Madrigal That sounds like my daughter's entry into the world - if she had been born one day earlier, it would still have been the previous tax year. Never mind, we said, we will benefit for a year at the other end. By then they had moved the goalposts.

Those goalposts! They caused me not to have an 18th birthday party because 21 was still the 'key of the door' birthday, but by the time I was 21, the official age of adulthood had moved to 18. Drat! I'm making up for this by having a birthday party next Tuesday for my 60th. I reckon that's as good a milestone as any!
