Popped onto Gransnet in the hope of finding other Grans, go to meetings and share ideas. Only to find this area of the website is just about empty of information. Is there no clubs, meets, places to eat, festivals, craft fairs or anything happening in Derbyshire?

Hello, I am new to Gransnet because I only heard about this website yesterday whilst at a WI Centenial meeting in Harrogate.
I see that both Nantassles and Jillymouse both live in Chesterfield which is where I am - Linacre Woods.
I wouldn't mind meeting up for coffee or if you feel really adventurous you could come along to a WI meeting. I belong to Old Brampton WI and they have a website for you to read their detail. You would be made very welcome as either a visitor or a member. smile

Hi all Derbyshire Grans. I am in Belper. Anyone else in Belper who would like a meet up? I walk slowly, but would love to find other people here for slow dog walking or simply for a coffee?

Had a really good natter. Looking forward to next time.

Two of us turned up. We had a great time.
We're planning to meet up again on Tuesday 3rd March at Cafe Nero in Buxton so hope to see you then.
If anyone else would like to join us, we'd be delighted to see you.

10 30 is fine see you then. I have got blonde hair and glasses.

That sounds great!
Could we make it 10.30 as I have to be at work in Whaley Bridge for 1.00, having had a quick bite to eat, so it will give me a bit more time for a natter.
Look forward to meeting you.

or close by?

Jillymouse Sat 29-Mar-14 19:21:34

Hi, I'm in Wingerworth near Chesterfield. Would love to meet up for coffee and chat. Am fairly new to the area so local info would be good. Nothing seems to posted on Sheffield site either.

I am only about an hour from Buxton just over in Cheshire. There are a few others in North West Cheshire who are not far away.
The trouble with Buxton it is right across high hills on bendy roads which are impassible in bad weather. (I love the Peak District scenery. ) I do regularly venture across to South Yorkshire to visit DD and my DGS.
