My husband is a bit of a hoarder but won't admit it, we just recently purchased a new power cleaner for the drive and patio but my husband was reluctant to throw the old cleaner away even though it didn't work anymore. Said it might come in useful for parts.
We had a talk about it and he eventually saw reason and thru it away.
I on the other hand will throw things out if I haven't used or worn them for some time. I prefer to pass things on, what I might not want may come in useful for someone else so clothes go to the charity shops, and furniture I would advertise as free for collection. I've passed on many things like this it's surprising what people will take. Our old greenhouse went to our neighbour next door and an old shed was swopped for some gardening work.
