Yet again the lights switch on has been a fiasco which cost Blackpool council a lot of money. Do you think this should return to being a free event?

I know that a lot of people were disappointed about the lights, especially as the sea front looks so great these days. I guess we should follow the economics if they made more than they would otherwise have done. The lights are a great draw and do extend the season so brilliantly.

Hi Ann . I do agree that the illuminations bring in lots of extra visitors but I do think the council tax payers who pay some of the cost should at least be able to see the switch on ceremony without paying. Not even any big screens this year as in previous years. Nice to see lots of visitors this year smile
