Yet another town centre shop closing

Clowns Restaurant has gone after over 30 years and now QD is being replaced by Poundland.

Jones shoes on Culver Square has gone and Monsoon has halved in size.
But WG is going to be good once it's finished!

Walking down Eld Lane yesterday, I saw that Sands shoes has a closing down sale.

Sadly, until they do something about the price of parking in Colchester this is the way it is going to go with shops closing. When I go to Maldon it is £1.60 for up to 3 hours, leaving plenty of time for shopping in the mix of national and independent shops, and have lunch. I never even have a coffee in Colchester as the extra parking is the same price as the coffee.

And now Whitnell's in Crouch Street is going.

This week I have seen that GAP and the Daisy Cup Flower Cafe are closing.

There is to be another charity shop opening soon opposite the not soon to open Primark.

Better news is that the Old Heath Co-op is being replaced by Lidl not housing.

Now both Upchurch and Claybrooks Jewellers are going.

Ralph & Rita Martin florist in Eld Lane is now another barber shop.

Today is the last trading day for one of the last remaining local butchers-Frank Wright in Crouch Street.

News that Minerva Chocolates are going too.

Fun and Games has a closing down sale on.

More Sports is closing after many years in Queen Street.

I have heard that Rejoys on Cowdray Ave are closing soon as well as Eclettico on Trinity Street.

Marriage's on Cowdray Ave is closing on 15th September. Customers will have to travel to Chelmsford.
