Just spotted the 'Katy' book giveaway on the main site. Jacqueline Wilson has rewritten one of my childhood favourites and I am wondering what it is going to be like. I still remember reading a very abridged version of What Katy Did over and over again, and wondering if I could change my ways and be a 'Good Girl" like she did after (spoiler alert) being disobedient and having her terrible accident.
I loved the sequels too, especially the descriptions of the Italian nut and chocolate spread and romance in gondolas, even though there was the whole 'nursing a child through fever at the expense of your own looks' plotline.
Did anyone else read them?
