According to the Future Dorset Website: "All nine councils in Dorset have now considered a report and accompanying detailed package of evidence setting out a proposal to replace the county’s nine councils with two new unitary authorities." The polls taken, both by councils and the public (based on a percentage of people who filled it out), there seems to be a swing towards the unification. It is hoped this will save public money, what do you think?
We are in East Dorset. It has very few debts unlike some of the others. Our rates have been regularly raised. If we join with certain others we will take on their debts. No we do not wish to be unified.
