Hello one and all, as your editor I thought I should get things rolling by a further introduction.
Firstly I never had any children so am not a grandparent but a proud great aunty.I was also a step parent/grandparent for a few years.
Born and brought up in Crewkerne, I now keep one foot there and one in Dorset, helping on my partner's dairy farm and working part time.
I have an arts and crafts background,love nature, gardening and music. I ended up in local media for 10 years & took voluntary redundancy due to ill health. Now I'm in my mid 50s, starting again after divorce,major surgery and coping with the often debilitating effects of surgical menopause. I understand the isolation and loneliness that can so easily occur, especially in rural areas and after bereavement or separation.
I like to give back and as well as this, I volunteer
as a facilitator for Grief Journey UK, bereavement support groups and am a Dementia Friend.
