Hi All,
I would like to introduce myself, I am known as Doris and I work supporting elderly people.

I am always being asked if I can help out when family carers are struggling to manage looking after their loved ones and their own commitments.

I am looking at setting up a local register of emergency carers to help step in and support families in our local area and wondered if you might all give me some feedback on whether you think this would be something that would be needed and if so how to get ourselves known in the local community.

I know only too well the strain looking after an ageing relative can be and would like to be able to offer support and assistance and am sure there must be lots of other people out their like myself that would enjoy this type of work but that don't want to work for a care agency.

I look forward to any feedback or advice.
