Corbyn seems hell bent on annoying the voters. Now he has said he wants to nationalise Liverpool Football Club. Where does he get he bonkers ideas from? How would this benefit our UK? So on top of alienating people who want to leave their money to their offspring, btl landlords, shareholders of Royal Mail and Utility companies, people with gardens, people who earn over £40k per annum and leave voters now he turns on football fans. He wants to target Manchester clubs too. Where are the Labour moderates?

He is very low on popularity in polls and now seems determined to nosedive further.

A Corbyn led Labour Government is nightmare material.

notanan2 Sun 20-Oct-19 13:04:44

Well now the problem is that even if Corbyn goes at this point, the labour party has been polarised and "Corbynised" and that'll take years to undo IMO

So as someone who has voted labour in the past, I feel I absolutely cannot vote labour for the forseeable future.

The tribalistic culture he has instilled in labour members will take a hell of a lot of unpicking. Even if he did stand down.

In a word, yes, I do think it is impossible.

I would dearly like to see Keir Starmer leading the LP.

Where do you get this from newnanny !
Daily Express hmm
Have you read this?

Why RBS looks set to own Liverpool FC
Comments
^Robert Peston | 08:43 UK time, Thursday, 23 September 2010
For those interested in owning Liverpool FC, the important calculation is this one: do they want to pay a premium and buy the club and business now, for something between £420m and £600m, or do they want to wait until it is in the hands of its banks, in the hope of securing Liverpool for more-or-less the £280m value of its bank debt (which includes £40m of penalty fees )

Many would say that harsh commercial logic dictates only one answer
With the 15 October deadline looming for Royal Bank of Scotland, Liverpool's main creditor, to decide whether to take control of the club, most bidders would surely prefer to wait for the fire sale.

Which is why it looks increasingly likely that Liverpool will - before too long - be the property of Royal Bank of Scotland and the US bank Wachovia (which provided around 25% of the bank debt )

2010 is very outdated MawB. Winning in Europe last year was very lucrative for LFC.

newnanny Sun 20-Oct-19 13:19:12

In the article I posted it suggested that Rebecca Long Bailey who also has union backing and is popular with Momentum could be next Labour Leader. She is also very very left wing and could not be described as a moderate.

MawB Sun 20-Oct-19 13:19:17

My mistake - I read that as 2019
But was unable to find any other references on Google.
Are you sure the DE has got it right?

Anniebach Sun 20-Oct-19 13:30:57

Please not Long Bailey, I am sorry but her voice irritates me so.

She is John Macdonald’s choice and he said the next leader must be a woman.

I will not become a member again. It is not the Labour Party, that’s dead , poisoned by Corbyn.

yggdrasil Sun 20-Oct-19 13:33:25

Could this be because you've only read the toxic lies from the EXpress?

Spend a bit of time actually listening to Corbyn.

notanan2 Sun 20-Oct-19 13:37:11

This is exactly the problem ^

This tribalism where anyone who criticises Corbyn only reads tabloids and cannot deduce fact from fiction.

Anniebach Sun 20-Oct-19 13:55:16

Wrong, I do not read tabloids, I speak to some labour MP’s and party members .

TerriBull Sun 20-Oct-19 14:04:44

Yes I second that Annie, please not Wrong-Daily I mean Long-Bailey

Corbyn has been for the last three years, and still is, the best possible recruiter for the Conservative party.

There are so many talented politicians in the Labour Party who could have done a better job and seen off the Brexit Tories long since.

No wonder so many former LP voters are flooding into thew LibDems.

yggdrasil Sun 20-Oct-19 14:26:40

I will wait to see if anyone watches the youtube vid I posted and comments on it.
Somehow I doubt it in this forum :-(

Grany Sun 20-Oct-19 14:26:55

The right wing billionaire Express owners don't want a Corbyn Socialist Government nor do several of the mainly right wing press.

Jeremy Corbyn does not annoy me nor thousands of others that joined Labour and became a member because of leadership.

If he wants to nationalise Liverpool football club it would be for the the people the benefit of the many.

Have you read Labours transformative and fair polices? And how they would be costed?

This is incorrect

So on top of alienating people who want to leave their money to their offspring, btl landlords, shareholders of Royal Mail and Utility companies, people with gardens, people who earn over £40k per annum

yggdrasil Agree with you people should look other than MSM daily express for their news

Anniebach Sun 20-Oct-19 14:38:52

The Labour Party is losing members , fact

notanan2 Sun 20-Oct-19 14:45:44

yggdrasil Agree with you people should look other than MSM daily express for their news

They do!
Dismissing all Corbyn critics as tabloid believing idiots wont do labour's cause any good! In fact it is this sentiment amongst Corbyn supporters that shows just how dangerous Corbyn is!
Not least because many of Corbyns strongest critics have been IN his party and have heard his words first hand!

notanan2 Sun 20-Oct-19 14:49:54

IMO it is Corbyn supporters who need to read more widely.

I DO read the tabloids. And broadsheets. And overseas media. And party policies first hand.

Every outlet has its angle. It is only by reading them all that you can form a rounded opinion.

A lot of Corbyn supporters take pride in avoiding and dismissing whole swathes of the mefia, whilst in the same breath claiming to be the only informed ones!

They are the ones in an echo chamber!

Davidhs Sun 20-Oct-19 14:53:31

Some posters should realize that most Premiership clubs rely on many millions invested every year by rich owners, Abramovic and others. That is not to say RBS won’t buy cheap and sell quickly and make money, owning a football club is a sure way to loose money, Man Utd excepted perhaps.

Grany Sun 20-Oct-19 14:57:26

They are the ones in an echo chamber!

No we just love his polices and want a Labour government Labour under Corbyn is not hard left, in Nordic countries his polices it is seen as mainstream

Grany Sun 20-Oct-19 15:06:36

Only thing that's toxic is the Tories and their neo liberalism and massacre of the thousands.

notanan2 Sun 20-Oct-19 15:08:47

Anyone who dismisses anyone who is not "with" them and thinks they are the only intelligent informed caring conscientous group, ARE in an echo chamber.

The tabloids do print a lot of guff and lies. But have also been the only ones to whistleblow at times. Its not ALL lies just because a lot of it is. And to claim that all tabloid readers take its word as gospel is just another example of Corbynistic tribalism! Reading the tabloids does not make you a type of person. If some news is breaking that Im interested in I read all sources I can find, from UK and abroad! But you would dismiss me as a tabloid reading idiot who knows nothing.

And that in itself is why Corbanism os dangerous.

lemongrove Sun 20-Oct-19 15:10:47

Who are the ‘we’ Grany? Because most posters on GN think that Corbyn is a dead duck in political terms.
