Corbyn last year
"Shamina Begun should be allowed to return to the UK. She was only a 16 year old immature child when she joined ISIS she cannot be held accountable for her actions at such a young age"

Corbyn last week
"We the people demand 16 year olds be given the vote in the UK, they are responsible and free thinking young adults"

The Brexiteer

Good for him.

grapefruitpip Wed 06-Nov-19 08:50:01

Yes, Great.

lemongrove Wed 06-Nov-19 08:55:04

Corbyn only wants the very young vote because he thinks they would vote Labour.....a very cynical ploy ( one used by Sturgeon, although it didn’t work out for her.)

GracesGranMK3 Wed 06-Nov-19 08:56:11

Couldn't agree more with both points. Thanks for highlighting it Firecracker; this sort of thinking needs all our support.

Firecracker123 Wed 06-Nov-19 08:58:24

Warped thinking yes says a lot about Corbyn and his supporters.

Whitewavemark2 Wed 06-Nov-19 09:00:24

?

Allowing the vote for 16 year olds needs a lot of debate in Parliament in the future, not called for just before a GE.
Of course, if they were granted the vote, at some point, they are more likely to vote for the Green Party ( or not bother voting at all) than vote for the main Parties.

GracesGranMK3 Wed 06-Nov-19 09:02:41

Such destructive thinking Lemongrove. Perhaps, as I have found you to be one of the name-callers on here, we should change yours to "Bitter Lemon".

It is the truth that Shamina Begun is a British Citizen, was very young when she went and has paid a heavy price for doing so with the loss of her children. It is also the truth that we are better off keeping our "enemies", if that is what you see her as, close.

The second point is also true. There has to be a transition period into adulthood and 16 is often seen as that. Add to that point that we are top-heavy with old people whose lives have been pretty much lived and we should balance the electorate with those who have a life to come.

Politics. Funny old game and all that.

Had Boris made those comments the Corbyn fans would be all over it like a rash.

Whatever fits your agenda!

GracesGranMK3 Wed 06-Nov-19 09:06:13

Warped thinking

What a shame Firecracker. I thought for once you had seen the light instead of bowing to prejudice. Still, it is a useful discussion point if you can rise above the snide remarks.

Unfortunately, your post Wed 06-Nov-19 08:58:24 had nothing in it we could actually discuss so I have to assume you are into goading posts once again.

Anniebach Wed 06-Nov-19 09:06:22

16 year olds need to concentrate on their GCSE’s not being drawn into momentum .

GracesGranMK3 Wed 06-Nov-19 09:10:55

A confirmation bias is a type of cognitive bias that involves favoring information that confirms your previously existing beliefs or biases.

We all have it Oopsminty it's just some of us recognise that we do. Others just post snide remarks. The post was put there to goad or inflame (yet again) and its brought out the arch supporters of goading rather than discussion as was obviously intended.

GracesGranMK3 Wed 06-Nov-19 09:11:40

Oh and here's Annie. I suppose we could have put a bet on that.

Firecracker123 Wed 06-Nov-19 09:21:19

I started this thread to highlight what a hyprocrite Corbyn is.

One week saying at 16 children are still immature. Then the next week wants to give the same immature children at 16 the vote. He's a hyprocrite no getting away from it.

Firecracker123 Wed 06-Nov-19 09:24:14

Oh and here's GracesGran we could have put a bet on that as well.

Yes they should Annie I agree.

GracesGranMK3 Wed 06-Nov-19 09:27:24

How about, for once, starting a thread "I started this thread to highlight what a hypocrite I believe Corbyn to be", or haven't you noticed your view is not God's word.

No point in actually discussing. I have previously replied to your point in your post of Wed 06-Nov-19 09:21:19. I do not agree with you but that is no surprise is it.

Off to do something that is actually useful now.

GrannyGravy13 Wed 06-Nov-19 09:30:24

Jeremy Corbyn is also an IRA sympathiser, and before any of his ardent supporters ask for proof.......it is all available on the internet, far too many "links" to post.

Anniebach Wed 06-Nov-19 09:57:53

Corbyn was a supporter of the I.R.A. He was a supporter of
Hamas,

He is anti semetic

Corbyn's wreath at graves of Munich terrorists.

lemongrove Wed 06-Nov-19 10:05:19

It would appear that GracesGran got out of the wrong side of the bed this morning, firing off personal attacks left right and sundry.

Firecracker123 Wed 06-Nov-19 10:11:03

Yes Lemongrove seems that way lol. I take no notice anyway.
