Several Labour MPs have broken lockdown and they have not been sacked...Stephen Kinnock 400 mile round trip to visit parents.
Ali has attended funeral mass gatherings
Gething rewrote Welsh lockdown rules after he was caught.
Corbyn not observing over 70’s lockdown.

Good try gg13

Whataboutery, doesn’t even begin to match up with the fact that Johnson took us for absolute idiots. He lied and obfuscated. Johnson is a known liar. The whole of his life he has been a liar.

He is the Prime Minister for heavens sake.

Did any of those people have known Coronavirus symptoms when they travelled?

Pantglas2 Mon 25-May-20 10:47:24

All true - England has Tory hypocrites and we in Wales have Labour ones! Nothing new under the sun!

Niobe Mon 25-May-20 10:52:36

Boris supporters seem to be feeling so defensive now as it’s beginning to dawn that a leopard does not change its spots. Cummings and Boris are like Leona Helmsley , the American socialite, who was reported to have said “Taxes? I don’t pay taxes! Only the little people pay taxes! Cummings’ mantra could be something similar.

paddyanne Mon 25-May-20 11:01:17

"SIR" Keir Starmer...the hypocrisy is in the name .
meanwhile

Cumming's sister in Durham, is a Director of IDOX, the company running the new CV-19 Track & Trace App.

IDOX also runs the postal votes system.

Think about it.

GrannyGravy13 Mon 25-May-20 11:16:52

No whataboutery Whitewavemark2 all facts.

Doodledog Mon 25-May-20 11:16:57

I don’t think I understand your points, paddyanne.

What is hypocritical about Kier Starmer’s earned knighthood?

Are you alleging nepotism on the part of Cummings? I am not shocked by that, but am not sure why he had to travel to Durham as a result. He doesn’t usually award contracts to his mates/donors/supporters by hand, surely? Why this time, when he is ill?

paddyanne Mon 25-May-20 11:24:30

Well you have to believe he was ill dont you ,his wifes blog says she was ill and he was SO ill he collapsed .....seems very odd you'd travel with a child in those circumstanes ..especially when you have a relative round the corner .On the other hand IF the dodgy dealing being talked about in Castle Barnard needed his input ,maybe the phone or computer weren't secure enough ..

SOCIALISTS .dont believe in the Honours system or titles ,well not any socialists I grew up with ,maybe English "socialists" have different standards ?

suziewoozie Mon 25-May-20 11:39:37

The Johnson fan club as usual demonstrating their complete lack of ability to think - I wonder how many PMs it has taken so since Friday to come up with this? And the OP can’t even spell properly

Dinahmo Mon 25-May-20 11:40:46

paddyanne What is your opinion on the thousands of "ordinary" people who have accepted honours and have been proud to do so. Nurses, doctors, teachers, charity workers etc.

I'm sure nobody is in favour of titles being awarded just because someone is a large donor to a political party. KS received his knighthood for his work as DPP in the 2014 New Year's Honours. About 18 months before he became an MP.

suziewoozie Mon 25-May-20 11:40:52

And paddy nowhere is it Labour Party policy to abolish the honours system (sadly)

Galaxy Mon 25-May-20 11:41:52

Have people gone mad? I didnt know there was a set of socialist beliefs I had to adhere to when I joined the labour party yesterday, my understanding of the party is that it is a broad church with people with a range of views, I dont particularly agree with the honour system but I certainly wouldn't want people barred who hold a different view. That kind of thinking quite frightens me. I am able to work with people who hold different views to myself.

craftyone Mon 25-May-20 11:44:45

David Harperof barnard castle and Dominic Cummings. They are identical, you couldn`t tell them apart. Mistaken identity, obviously. Egg on faces

MaizieD Mon 25-May-20 11:51:33

Good god. Keir Starmer wasn't 'Sir Keir' before he joined the Labour Party. Was he supposed to leave it when he was knighted for his public service?

I think you'll find, GG13 that politicians from both parties have been 'caught' not strictly following the 'rules'; none of them being quite as spectacularly contemptuous of them as Cummings.

We can indulge in tit for tattery all day long but none of the transgressors have transgressed as badly as Cummings.

Niobe Mon 25-May-20 11:52:27

Not unless David Harper drives the same make of car with identical number plates. I understand the car has been identified by police.

MaizieD Mon 25-May-20 11:53:14

Oh, I see, it was David Harper who was seen climbing into Cummings' car with his wife and child, was it?

Bl**dy nice try; won't wash...

EllanVannin Mon 25-May-20 11:53:30

Keir Starmer---he who states that a man is guilty without knowing anything about the case. Says it all really.

Elliegran Mon 25-May-20 12:00:11

I just wish Starmer would remember to take the coat hanger out of his jacket before he puts it on. He is so stiff and starchy.
Sick of hearing the bleats from the loony Lefties and Remoaners on here. The government is doing a very difficult job and doing it well.

Galaxy Mon 25-May-20 12:02:56

Well that was an insightful political debate.

GGumteenth Mon 25-May-20 12:10:28

SOCIALISTS .dont believe in the Honours system or titles ,well not any socialists I grew up with ,maybe English "socialists" have different standards ?

Is that a rule or a law?

Dinahmo Mon 25-May-20 12:16:59

Elliegran where have you been for the last few weeks? Have you not seen the tv or newspapers?

I think that the majority of people on GN at the moment don't think that the govt. is doing a good job, judging by the comments on this and other threads.

Personally I think that Starmer's demeanor is correct, especially when dealing t=with the PM at PMQs

Willow10 Mon 25-May-20 12:20:23

I'm not affiliated to any political party, in fact I think they are all a complete waste of space and tax, only in it for their own ends. But am I the only one who thinks this baying for blood has gone far enough? He's not a mass murderer for goodness sake! Anyone else wold be reprimanded by the police and fined. Why does he have to lose his job? Oh sorry, of course - it's all about egos and power shuffling as usual. What a bunch of hypocritical, backstabbing 'colleagues ' they have turned out to be. And them all being so perfect, naturally. Can't they give the guy a break and move on for goodness sake! Or is this just a cover up story for something actually serious going on?

Elliegran Mon 25-May-20 12:22:24

Dinahmo obviously you belive everything you read in the press. The government has flattened the curve and deaths are reducing. I would call that success.

Elliegran Mon 25-May-20 12:25:38

Willow 10 I agree with you. Time to move on and look at the bigger picture.
