Just when you think they can’t sink any lower

Returnofthemc Fri 02-Apr-21 23:14:04

This has made me just me feel a little bit sick in my mouth
What is wrong with them?

GrannyRose15 Fri 02-Apr-21 23:24:23

Where has this come from please?

Where has this come from please?

It’s at the bottom of the photo - it was tweeted this morning by Nadhim Zaharia a Conservative Minister - clearly the Tories now own Good Friday.

NotSpaghetti Fri 02-Apr-21 23:54:56

Why would anyone do that?

suziewoozie Sat 03-Apr-21 00:01:17

This government are beyond shame and can literally do anything they want

nanna8 Sat 03-Apr-21 00:02:01

Be cheered. That will upset so many people they will lose votes. What are they thinking?

suziewoozie Sat 03-Apr-21 00:17:03

It won’t upset their core supporters

Mollygo Sat 03-Apr-21 00:59:03

The number of people not on Twitter, who will not see it unless people decide to give it more publicity and spread the word by reposting the picture will far exceed the few who have seen it and even those may not have noticed the Conservative label at the bottom.
I can think of far worse things to say about Nadhim Zahawi than that he acknowledges Good Friday.

Eloethan Sat 03-Apr-21 01:13:29

These are very worrying times.

suziewoozie Sat 03-Apr-21 01:46:21

Molly ?????????He branded it. You’d have said the same if Sturgeon or Starmer had done it?

Ginny42 Sat 03-Apr-21 01:48:38

Arrogance or ignorance?

suziewoozie Sat 03-Apr-21 01:53:22

Ignorance of what?

Mollygo Sat 03-Apr-21 04:08:49

Absolutely SW, but actually I still wouldn’t have given it further publicity by reposting it.

Mamardoit Sat 03-Apr-21 06:12:55

Where is this appearing? On posters?

mumofmadboys Sat 03-Apr-21 07:41:11

I think it is quite offensive sticking Conservative on that poster

Kalu Sat 03-Apr-21 07:53:02

Ignorance of the fact that highlighting Good Friday does not apply to non religious voters. Quite divisive actually.

eazybee Sat 03-Apr-21 07:53:27

I don't find it in the least offensive.

Esspee Sat 03-Apr-21 08:00:20

I consider it offensive and I’m an atheist.

Jaxjacky Sat 03-Apr-21 08:26:41

I wouldn’t have seen it if it hadn’t been posted here.

Mamardoit Sat 03-Apr-21 08:36:08

If it's a poster plastered all over buses and hoardings I can see why people would find it offensive. Is it something just on a twitter post? I don't do twitter so not really sure how it works. Do you have to purposely log on to someone to see it?

Lucca Sat 03-Apr-21 08:36:30

Eazybee if you’re a christian fine to wish people good Friday but no need for the conservative logo added, surely ?

MaizieD Sat 03-Apr-21 08:40:47

Perhaps it's a futile attempt to attract the Christian voter.

I say futile because surely no-one who believes in the teachings of Christ could possibly have any time for this government?

BlueSky Sat 03-Apr-21 08:42:40

Suzie by posting it here you gave it more publicity!

MaizieD Sat 03-Apr-21 08:44:06

Lucca

Eazybee if you’re a christian fine to wish people good Friday but no need for the conservative logo added, surely ?

If you're a Christian you don't wish people 'Good Friday'. It's the saddest moment in the Christian year. It's not a bloody cheery greeting.
