I don’t care how many letters he has after his name, how does he not see this as cheating?

MrsThatcher Thu 28-Sep-23 20:00:55

It’s not right it’s disgusting. He is a man. What a joke.

Bodach Thu 28-Sep-23 20:07:26

Is one still permitted to use the phrase "The lunatics have taken over the asylum'?
Probably not... but it fits the bill here.

eazybee Thu 28-Sep-23 20:09:31

It is not right and everyone knows it, but hey, win at all costs.

Aveline Thu 28-Sep-23 20:14:11

Wrong. Just wrong.

GrannyGravy13 Thu 28-Sep-23 20:17:26

Wrong at every level

Anyone who thinks it’s ok needs to give their head a wobble and retake GCSE Biology

Doodledog Thu 28-Sep-23 20:23:19

Unsurprisingly I think it is a disgrace. Unfortunately, until the blanket acceptance of self-id stops, there is nothing we can do to stop men beating women in sport, taking over the WI, gatecrashing lesbian dating events, entering changing rooms with teenage girls and so on.

welbeck Thu 28-Sep-23 20:50:44

this seems to be an issue that largely divides on age lines.
the elders are v concerned, the youngers think they are misguided, or narrow-minded, or something; ie that there is no problem, except prejudice.
not sure where the divide falls, about age 40, maybe ?
i guess others have noticed this too.

welbeck Thu 28-Sep-23 20:52:13

obviously, there are outliers, esp among young female athletes, i would imagine, who do see the problem !

fancythat Thu 28-Sep-23 20:52:20

You would think they would have a sense of fair play, and self respect, and other emotions.
But clearly they do not.

Therefore it should be up to others to stop this.

I am going to say something controversial but I dont care.
I think there are forces at work to destablise things in this country, and elsewhere in the world too.

I also think that influences are at work at the top of various aspects of societies.
And they use money to help to make things filter down.

welbeck Thu 28-Sep-23 20:56:29

which forces ?

mrshat Thu 28-Sep-23 21:04:45

Wrong on every level angry

Shinamae Thu 28-Sep-23 21:07:58

Unbelievable…😳

growstuff Thu 28-Sep-23 21:07:59

What was the award for? What is the aim of the organisation which made the award?

Jackiest Thu 28-Sep-23 21:10:03

What did the person win? It says Outstanding female LGBTQIA+ champion. Do we really expect that not to ignore physical gender.

nadateturbe Thu 28-Sep-23 21:11:42

We live in a crazy world today.

Interesting.
It divides age levels? You think all the sports women who have been deprived of a medal by a cheating man are over 40?
Wow!
You think all the women who enter competitions like this one are happy to lose to a cheating man?
Wow.

I suppose it depends on who you know, or if you’ve ever been deprived of a win by a cheat. Maybe you support cheating and lying by anyone at any age.
It’s unusual, but there are obviously some people who support lying and cheating as right. (Probably until it affects them.)

These threads are always biased. It makes me so sad. They won the award for being a LGBTQIA+champion therefore it was not pertinent which gender they were themselves.

50 years ago would you all have been harping about black rights activists?

I hope and pray that you can open your hearts and minds just a little bit.

Wheniwasyourage Thu 28-Sep-23 22:37:46

My DGC of both sexes (at least the ones old enough to know what it’s all about) are well aware of what the difference between men and women is, and of what a woman is. They are tolerant of the different ways in which people think of themselves, but have no time for the TRA aggression. It’s not all just a matter of age welbeck

Wheniwasyourage Thu 28-Sep-23 22:44:11

Ali23, I don’t think your likening aggressive TRAs to black rights activists is a valid comparison. One group were aiming for equality whereas the other is attempting dominance.

The tweet says "I was awarded the East Midlands outstanding FEMALE.........." A transwoman is not by any definition female, or are we not to have any word for that sex designed to provide the large gamete in sexual reproduction? It is very pertinent what sex wins a female award.

I very much doubt any of us would have been "harping" about black rights activists, nor before you raise it gay rights activists. Why try to malign women who merely are concerned about women being shoved aside at every opportunity? What is it about males taking awards meant for females in sports, literary awards, business awards etc etc that you think is so inherently "fair"?

No, and I find your comment about race offensive. There is no comparison between black people wanting to be treated the same as white people and men wanting to enter women’s sports- none at all. I am so sick of having to answer questions based on this totally false equivalence.

Please don’t pray for me. My heart and mind are open, but I want to protect women and girls. Would you like me to pray for you to want the same?

No, the award is for Outstanding Female LGBTQIA+champion.

LGBTQIA+champion as a title would be fine whoever won the title.

This person is not an Outstanding Female however they identify.
