A giant of a man. The U.K. has lost a man of integrity, creativity and moral intelligence.

Very talented and overcame dyslexia to achieve so much.
R.I.P. Professor.

Apparently he was diagnosed with a brain tumour 8 weeks ago, all so quick.

Just heard he was diagnosed with a brain tumour a few weeks ago, he was only in his early 60 s. A shock for his family and he will be missed by many.

Yes very sad, my brother died of a brain tumour so often the cause of an untimely death. I often enjoyed seeing him on QT when I watched it, not lately. I thought he had an unconventional and often interesting take on matters which were worth listening to. Also loved his poems, especially, I think it was called "Turkeys at Christmas".

I was really saddened by this news this morning. Although I had never had the good fortune to meet him, I always felt a warmth, a kindness in his voice, a gentle soul who made his point without ranting. A sad loss

He brought poetry to so many who would never read a poetry book. A great loss.

So sad to learn of Benjamin Zephaniah's death. My son sent me a text with the news. We loved his poetry and when my children were young they learnt and recited "Talking Turkeys".
I saw Benjamin perform on stage in Stoke-on-Trent. He was amazing. After the show I lined up to get his autograph and to my joy had an interesting chat with him.
