Old sayings. It's a shame they are dying out.

If it's any help, the long thread nina mentioned is here.

I did laugh at your friend's thoughts on unattractive people marrying, Daddima grin

There's a long thread about this smile

I've just been out with my friend, who has a great line in chat. She used one of my granny's sayings when bemoaning her recent spell of bad luck.

" If there was an egg short in the rations, I'd get it".

A couple of others;

" Nae sense in wasting two hooses"
( If two unattractive people decided to marry)

" The fox is an eejit compared to him/her"
( When talking about a sly person)

What sayings do others remember?
