Any ideas on our new little Prince's name? I'm betting on Charles ... or maybe Phillip.

DanniRae Tue 24-Apr-18 15:49:32

Charleygirl - I think it is Michael.

Anniebach Tue 24-Apr-18 15:58:30

According to the bookies there has been a sudden surge for James.

Anniebach Tue 24-Apr-18 15:59:18

Prince James Pj

Jalima1108 Tue 24-Apr-18 16:07:16

His father's cousin is called James.

Arthur James Philip Michael

Jalima1108 Tue 24-Apr-18 16:09:14

Alfred or Frederick
(Alfie is quite popular as is Freddie)

annsixty Tue 24-Apr-18 16:38:43

I have a GS named James with a younger sister named Charlotte.
I also have an Alfie and a Bobby ( Robert) named after his father who is called Robert.
The other 2 have modern names.

BlueBelle Tue 24-Apr-18 16:45:54

Oh charleygirl I m with you, no disrespect to anyone with dads brothers granddads etc but can’t stand Albert Alfred’s and all those old men names he’s a baby then a child then will be a young man in another 20 odd years I do hope they don’t lumber him with an old traditional name but I expect they will
Philip or is her dad Michael ? or Richard are a bit better

Anniebach Tue 24-Apr-18 16:49:41

I don't like Arthur , Bert or Fred

threexnanny Tue 24-Apr-18 17:35:10

As he was born on St George's day it's a pity that name has already been used.

Menopaws Tue 24-Apr-18 18:11:08

Alexander Philip george

annsixty Tue 24-Apr-18 18:23:01

I really like Alexander, good choice.
Do you think they will take any notice?

NotAGran55 Tue 24-Apr-18 19:17:26

Arthur Philip Michael is my guess . Although I would like Albert ( Bertie ) Charles Henry . Certainly not James as it's far too popular .

absent Wed 25-Apr-18 06:10:15

Hasn't been a John for a while.

NanaNancy Wed 25-Apr-18 06:23:12

It's up to the Queen to give her approval hence the delay is not theirs.
Can't imagine her not approving any name they put forward so maybe we will know today.
My vote is something long with multiple names of Phillip William Albert Charles and they end up calling him ...little bean or Allie, Wills...

kittylester Wed 25-Apr-18 08:10:55

Our Charlotte is called Lottie not Charlie, iyswim!

DanniRae Wed 25-Apr-18 08:15:46

I think: Jason...Wayne...Craig...Gavin...Kevin...Will definitely NOT be on their list!!

Katek Wed 25-Apr-18 08:29:07

James Phillip Michael.

gillybob Wed 25-Apr-18 08:38:25

Phillip shortened to little Pip !

NfkDumpling Wed 25-Apr-18 08:46:03

William - It was Shakespeare’s birthday too. Shortened to the Boy Billy.

harrigran Wed 25-Apr-18 09:04:05

Our St George's day baby is Frederick Edward.
I think the royal family will stick to traditional names, I guessed the names of George and Charlotte before it was announced but really don't know this time. Unlikely that he will be king so probably not that important.

Maggiemaybe Wed 25-Apr-18 10:10:41

absent, I have a small bet on John, at 100 to 1. It was out there with Wayne when I put the bet on, and when I mentioned it on other threads the feedback has been that it won't ever be revived, because of the bad record of the only King John we've had. Of course every King George, William, Charles and James has been beyond reproach! wink You can still get 50 to 1 if you're quick. grin

annodomini Wed 25-Apr-18 10:16:02

Prince George already has Alexander as one of his middle names. The other is Louis - a tribute to the late Lord Mountbatten.

Jalima1108 Wed 25-Apr-18 20:16:08

The most recent Prince John was the child with epilepsy Maggiemaybe and hidden away on the Sandringham Estate; in those days would have been thought of as something shameful I presume sad, although it appears that he had a happy life.

merlotgran Wed 25-Apr-18 20:35:21

It would be a nice tribute to the poor little boy if the baby is called John. It wasn't his fault he was ill and it would be daft to think the name brings bad luck.

William was named after William of Gloucester who died piloting his plane in an air race. You don't get much unluckier than that.

Anniebach Wed 25-Apr-18 21:01:47

We will know tomorrow, think being Anzac Day today wouldn't have been appropriate to announce it
