Aggression on television

Turn the TV down (or better still, OFF)
I think raised voices and arguments in the home are much more harmful.
How can they be sure mummy and daddy love them if they sound as if they hate each other?

It’s not just the words, either, but the tone of voice.

And the news is bad for us all.

Yes, I believe it is bad for little people.

I'm sure it must sink into little minds (and big ones!)
Sometimes its such a relief to have peace and quiet, even if the tv is burbling pleasantly in the background.
I can't stand shopping when the music is too loud.
My nerves jangle.

It shouldn't worry babies and children. If it was physically inside the home it would be worrying-------as in parents raising voices etc, but background noise and the babble of the politicians isn't going to affect the children.
A quiet environment isn't always good either.

The BBC news is on in the next room as I speak, dealing with the current views on Brexit. My concern is the harm that the many loud and agitated discussions that have been happening lately may be having on babies and young children without us even realising - they are not to know that it is merely people putting their opinion across. What do others think? I've (bravely) posted this on Mumsnet too, to get a younger perspective on the subject. (hard hat is at hand). grin
