Loved Albert Finney in lots of films such as Gumshoe, Murder on the Orient Express, and Wolfen. He always seemed really nice.

A fine actor and an absolute dish in his younger days. I loved him in Saturday Night and Sunday Morning.

I forget that good actors like him grow old like the rest of us. RIP.

Tbh I though he had died a while ago.
I also thought he must be older than 82, but there you are.
I always get him and Tom Courtney mixed up.
I read Saturday Night and Sunday Morning and liked the book better than the film, but Finney was excellent for the lead role.

Channel 81 Talking Pictures has been showing Gumshoe fairly regularly recently. If its on again I'll re-watch it as a tribute to Albert Finney (he plays a wannabe private eye / enquiry agent who hits the jackpot by discovering a big crime - Frank Finnley plays his crooked brother in it).

That's very sad. Loved him with Shirley Anne Field. They went so well together. Wonder how old she is now.

Ahh I fell in love with him in Tom Jones. Good actor with twinkly eyes.
He refused " honours".

Was he in Big Fish? an amazing film.

I will always remember him as 'Tom Jones'. I have got the DVD somewhere, I must find it and watch it in his honour.

So sad to have heard this news. I thought he was also in Room at the Top but that was Laurence Harvey.

I was lucky enough to see Albert Finney on stage many times at Birmingham Rep. We were at school, went regularly and were very excited to see such an attractive and talented young actor join the company.
Some lovely memories, how sad that he's no longer here.

He was a resident of our little harbour town and until recently always had his breakfast in one of our local coffee shops, just across the road from his home.

A great actor, of both stage and screen, of the same mold as Olivier.

He was a great actor - so much so that, unlike with some other actors, you forgot he was Albert Finney, he was the character he was playing.
From an angry young man to Churchill.

We have lost another great talent.
