Potential offensive private messages

(40 Posts)

This afternoon I looked at my private messages and there was one from a poster I did not recognise. There was the start of a potentially offensive message along with the title so I did not open it. I deleted it and sent an email to Gransnet to block this person. They dealt with it very promptly and he/she will not be able to send any one another private message. I am posting this to say thank you to whoever dealt with this at Gransnet HQ and to warn Gransnetters that anyone can come on here and send offensive private messages so be aware!!

Nor me, and my natural charm doesn't just shine, Charleygirl it is such that, like the sun, one shouldn't look at it with the naked eye!grin

And as for my beauty, I'm surprised that you haven't read in the press about the number of men who have had to go in to therapy because I have spurned their advances.

I thought Steve had started a thread recently - perhaps those who contributed to it received a pm. I had two from someone called Steve but they weren't offensive.

MissA grin You are so kind!

I got 2 today. One from the lynch one and one from someone else. Lonely widower?
I reported one of them but haven't heard from GN get.
I meant to report both but somehow couldn't find the right button on this device!!
I don't want to stop all PMs.

Please make sure to report these if you get them - they are spam. We have blocked the senders of these messages as they are brought to our attention.

I can't work out how to delete a PM - I can see how to block a sender but not how to delete the message - a little help please!

Another one feeling left out. grin. I wonder how the lucky recipients are selected?

sunseeker I have been asking on several threads how to delete PMs, but so far zilch!!!!

Callistemon Sun 28-Apr-19 11:47:28

I think Steve who started a thread must be a different Steve (sorry Steve!).

GG13 Perhaps it is a secret only known to those in the inner circle grin

GrannyGravy13 Sun 28-Apr-19 11:59:54

sunseeker in that case I have no hope of ever finding out as I am not even in the outer most ripple ?????

GG13 and anyone else who wants to delete a private message. This works on a PC - don't know about tablet or I-pad, but try it.

Go to your inbox, select that message and click on the title of it so that it is displayed. Just above it you will see two boxes - one is small and blank, the second is a bit bigger and says "Block poster".

Start by clicking on the second to make sure that you don't get any more from that poster. Then click on the first, (blank) one, which will bring up a little window asking "Do you want to delete this post" and giving you the choice to delete or cancel.
