Just read that Lynn Faulds Wood has died, apparently from a stroke.
i remember how she bravely battled through bowel cancer over 20 years ago, and did much to inform and educate about what had been an unmentionable area of the body.
somehow this news has made me really sad, though i didn't know her, but always like to see hear her on tv and radio.
condolences to her husband and son.

This is sad news.I too remember how brave she was when battling bowel cancer not only in fighting the disease but informing the public about the symptoms of what was at the time a little known about disease.
RIP

So sad. She wasn't afraid to talk about 'bottoms' and what can go wrong. I am sure her matter of fact way of discussing bowel cancer saved lives.

That’s sad news. Going to be even more difficult for the family given the current situation. She must have saved many lives with her openness about bowel cancer - a real taboo subject not so long ago.

RIP?

She was such a force for change.
Thanks to her we have safer plugs and cordless kettles.

She must have saved many lives in different ways.

Sad news. I remember her fight against bowel cancer and thought she was a brave and honest presenter.

How sad, I was another who thought she talked good sense. She was so brave and open about her cancer, which must have helped so many people.
I didn’t realise she was in her 70s.

I was really surprised and sad when I saw the headline. Recently I have seen her on TV News a few times doing the paper review. Everyone only has similar lovely things to say about her.

I also did not realise she was 72- she has been around for a while and only spoke sense. A lovely lady - she will be missed. I cannot remember the name of her husband but he also was lovely.

I was sad to hear about this. She made a real contribution, which I suppose is a lovely thing to think about someone life.

She certainly drove home the message not to be embarrassed by bowels and their workings.
She seemed a lovely woman. flowers
